Connect CLARA with Workday to automatically screen and score candidates using AI-powered insights within your existing recruiting workflow.

👋 Introduction

This guide explains how to connect CLARA with Workday. Once integrated, CLARA screens and scores candidates from your Workday jobs using data synced from Workday.

Note: CLARA offers a one-way integration with Workday. Data flows from Workday to CLARA but not back to the ATS.

Use this guide if your team uses both CLARA and Workday as part of your recruiting workflow.

🧰 What you'll need before getting started

Before starting, make sure you have:

Admin access in CLARA
Admin access in Workday with permission to manage API Clients

🧭 How to connect CLARA with Workday

Part 1: Connect

In CLARA, go to Settings → Integrations.

Click Add New Integration, select Workday, then click Connect to ATS.

In Workday, search for Register API Client for Integrations.

Fill out the required fields in the registration form:

Client Grant Type → Authorization Code Grant
Access Token Type → Bearer
Enable Non-Expiring Refresh Tokens
Under Scope, include Recruiting, Integrations, Organizations & Roles, and related data areas
Click Done

From View API Clients, open the new API client and select Generate New Client Secret.

Copy the Client ID and Client Secret and paste them into the CLARA setup screen.

In Workday, go to View API Client → Manage Refresh Tokens for Integrations. Select your Workday account and click OK. If a token already exists, select Delete or Regenerate Refresh Token.

Copy the new Refresh Token and paste it into CLARA.

Part 2: Configure

In CLARA, confirm your Client ID, Client Secret, and Refresh Token are entered (along with a Custom Report URL if required), then click Continue.

CLARA will validate the connection. If successful, you'll see Status: Active.
Choose which candidate statuses should trigger follow-up questions (for example, Screen, Assessment, Reference Check, Background Check).
