This guide explains how to connect CLARA with Pinpoint. Once integrated, CLARA screens and scores candidates from your Pinpoint jobs, and sends insights back as custom fields and tags on your candidate profiles.

Use this guide if your team uses both CLARA and Pinpoint as part of your recruiting workflow.

🧰 What you'll need before getting started

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • Partner Admin access in CLARA

  • Pinpoint Administrator permissions (required to create API keys, access custom fields, and manage tags)

  • Your Pinpoint subdomain

Note: If you don't see Settings in your Pinpoint sidebar after signing in, you don't have Administrator access. Ask your Pinpoint admin to either add you to the Administrator group or complete the setup for you.

🧭 How to connect CLARA with Pinpoint

Part 1: Connect

  1. Sign in to Pinpoint and go to Settings β†’ Integrations.

  1. Under the Apps tab, find the tile labeled Pinpoint API and select Add.

  1. Switch the status from Disabled to Enabled, then select Create New.

  1. Enter a name in the API Key Name field and set the following permissions:

  • Job β€” read

  • Application β€” read and write

  • Comment β€” write

  • Custom attributes β€” delete, read, and write

  1. Scroll to the bottom and click Create API Key.

  1. Once the key appears, use the Copy icon to copy it to your clipboard.

  1. Log into CLARA and go to Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Add New Integration.

  1. Select Pinpoint from the list.

  1. Click to continue on the screen that appears.

  1. Enter your Pinpoint subdomain. If you need help finding it, there is a link at the bottom of the module.

  1. Paste your API key into the provided field and click Set Up Integration.

Part 2: Configure

  1. In CLARA, click View Integration and follow the on-screen instructions to create each required Custom Field. Setting up custom fields in Pinpoint allows CLARA to send scoring data back to candidate pages.

  1. In Pinpoint, go to Settings β†’ Tag Management.

  1. Click New Tag Category, name it CLARA, choose a color, and click Save.

  1. In the new CLARA tag category, click + Add Tag and add the following three tags individually, saving after each one:

  • CLARA: Pre_Qualified

  • CLARA: Qualified

  • CLARA: Not_Qualified

CLARA tag filters will now be available on the Candidates page in Pinpoint under the CLARA section.

πŸ“Œ What syncs between CLARA and Pinpoint

Once enabled, the integration will:

  • Sync jobs from Pinpoint into CLARA

  • Sync candidates from Pinpoint into CLARA for screening and scoring

  • Send CLARA scoring data back to candidate profiles in Pinpoint via custom fields

  • Apply CLARA status tags (CLARA: Pre_Qualified, CLARA: Qualified, CLARA: Not_Qualified) to candidates in Pinpoint

🚫 How to disconnect Pinpoint from CLARA

You can disconnect the Pinpoint integration at any time from the Integrations page in CLARA. You can also adjust follow-up question settings or candidate processing preferences there.
