How Filters & Tags Can Help you Stay Organized

Technical Note: The Filter icon (see below) can be found on your home screen. Filter options will change based on what tab is selected (recipes, ingredients, etc).

Why Filters?

Filters are a great way to create different ways of seeing groups of recipes. meez has several predefined filters, but you can add custom filters using the Tags or Stations.

To add tags or stations tags, click edit on a recipe. Then scroll down on the Prep Method tab.

Tags

Here are some examples of the types of Tags you can create:

  • Time Tag (Active/Inactive/Archive), (month/year)

  • Menu Tag [Mains/Menu Items/Prep/Batch]

  • Concept (if applicable)

Station Tags:

Add a station to your recipe (on the prep method tab, under 'Additional Details.' These will also show up in your filters.

Recipe Books are Ideal for Sharing

Why Recipe Books?

Recipe books are an ideal way of sharing recipes with your prep and line cooks. You can remove and add recipes to recipe books, and your staff will always see the most updated version of that recipe book.

Example: set up your recipe books by station, and then 'grant view access' to the recipe books. For instance,

  • Garde Manger

  • Grill

  • Saute

  • Fry

  • Prep

Pro-Tip: Create a "How we use meez" Doc.

This doc can serve as a place to plan our and record your list of tags, stations, and recipe books. It can serve as a point of reference. Try making your doc looks something like this:
