Now that you have your Trail Account created, the first you can do is to go through all your Personal Settings.

We recommend this, especially for new Trail users, as it helps you understand what's customizable and allows you to personalize your account.

Personal Settings only affects your own personal Trail account.
Only you are able to change these settings.*

* with the exception of your Disclosures which can be managed from a team member

We'll outline what these Personal Settings are and link to further details on editing these.

In this article you will learn:

  • Where to find your Personal Settings

  • What you can change for your Personal Settings

Where to Find your Personal Settings

Personal Settings can be found by going to the Settings page through either:

1. Clicking the Settings icon at the bottom left corner of the screen.

2. Clicking your name in the top right corner of the screen, then clicking 'Settings'.

When entering the Settings page, you will find the left hand menu will show you the sections for Personal Settings at the top:

If you are an admin, also your company's Organisation Settings.

From here, you are able to make various changes to your personal Trail account, to suit your workflows.

What you can change for your Personal Settings

Let's do a quick overview of the pages here:

Profile

This is to change personal profile things like your display photo, your login email address, your phone number and other details. These may appear on the PDF documents that are produced from Trail. More on this here!

Also your Email Signature (at the bottom of the page) too, which appears on any email you personally send on Trail.

This is also where to upload important info like your Declaration or Letter of Authority. More on this here.

Security Centre

This is where to go if you would like to change your Trail account Password- or to set up your 2 Factor Authentication (2FA). More on how to set up your 2FA here!

Email Integration

This is very important for getting the most out of Trail. Connecting your email integration allows automatic syncing of your email communications with clients, onto their relevant Trail Profile. More on setting up in the links below (depending on your email provider):

Email Templates

This setting is for templating any emails that you can send to your client from Trail.

For customizing Trail's set 'trigger' based email templates, click here!

And click here for Custom email templates that you can create to use along with Custom AutomationsπŸ‘

Notifications

This is important for setting up what events in Trail you want to be notified about so you don't miss out on getting in touch with your client! For more information, click here.

Automations

This is where to set your triggers & automated actions in Trail, in relation to product servicing/ monitoring (i.e. Fixed Rate Rollovers, Policy or Investment renewals/ reviews.).

Quick Tip πŸ’‘ If you're editing this page, make sure to check your previous setting - Notifications - to make sure the two are aligned!

Disclosure Settings (only if you're an Adviser/ Manager account)

Another important one to get sorted before your business starts sending out Fact Finds

  • Your Stage 2 N&S disclosure will show for the client when they have just completed their Fact Find.

  • Trail pulls your Stage 3: Advice disclosure into any new Advice Opportunities you make - from there you can edit the disclosure further to suit the client from within the Opportunity. πŸ‘
