Member roles and access rights

What each role (Owner, Admin, Manager, Campaign coordinator, Content creator, Analyst, Support) can see and do in WAX.

Every member of your WAX organization has a role. The role decides which pages they see and what they can do. Give everyone the most limited role that lets them do their job: if an account is compromised, the attacker can only do what that role allows.

Owners and Admins manage roles in Settings > Members.

Roles at a glance

Owner

All rights. Only an Owner can make someone an Owner, or change or remove an Owner.

Admin

All rights: members, billing, security, contact exports.

Manager

The whole product, except members, billing, security settings, and exporting or bulk deleting contacts.

Campaign coordinator

Creates and sends campaigns, creates, edits and activates automations, manages lists, segments and templates.

Content creator

Like a campaign coordinator, but cannot send a campaign or activate an automation, and cannot edit a scheduled campaign or an active automation.

Analyst

Reads campaigns, automations, audience and analytics, and exports analytics. Changes nothing and has no inbox.

Support

The inbox only: read and answer conversations.

Members added before roles existed became Managers, and admins stayed Admins. Review each member's role.

Good to know

  • Only Owners and Admins can see the organization's API token: it opens the whole API.

  • A member's MCP apps follow their role: an Analyst cannot create a campaign from Claude or ChatGPT.

  • A Content creator can prepare a campaign or an automation, but a Campaign coordinator, Manager or Admin has to send or activate it.

  • Some integrations (and sharing them between organizations) can only be connected by an Owner or Admin.
