This is Interpolate Points, but for a whole line instead of a single point: every point along one polyline blends toward its counterpart on the other, by the same 0–1 factor. For example, blending a rough first-pass road alignment toward its final surveyed alignment, or stepping a building outline partway from one massing option toward another.
Feed a List of factors into "factor" instead of a single number to get a whole series of in-between shapes back at once, instead of just one. This is handy for generating a sequence of intermediate steps rather than a single blend.
Category: Geometric Operations
Kind: Operation
Description: tween between two polylines
Inputs
Name | Abbreviation | Type | Access | Description |
a | A | Cartesian | Item | the first polyline |
b | B | Cartesian | Item | the second polyline |
factor (default 0.5) | F | Number | Item | the interpolation factor: 0 returns "a", 1 returns "b" |
Outputs
Name | Abbreviation | Type | Access | Description |
feature | F | Cartesian | Item | the tweened polyline (or a list of them, if "factor" was a list) |
How to
Add the Tween Polylines node.
Feed in two polylines, "a" and "b", from Line, Line String from Points, or Read Feature on drawn geometry.
Set "factor" to how far between them you want the result.
The output is a new polyline shaped in-between the two originals.
