Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Fundraising enables your supporters to create their own fundraising pages and raise money on your behalf. It is an optional setting that all nonprofit admins can enable through their Campaign Pages and Core Profile.
Enable P2P Fundraising
Every fundraising page on Give Lively has the option of allowing donors to make their own fundraising page through it. This option is enabled and disabled for donors through any of your fundraisers' Basic Information page as a checkbox. After it has been enabled donors will be able to see a "Start a Fundraiser" button on your page that they can use to make their P2P page. You can disable P2P pages again by unchecking the checkbox.
If you already have P2P fundraising enabled and donors have made P2P pages, disabling this option won't delete the already created P2P pages. It will only stop new P2P pages from being created.
How P2P Pages Work
After a donor creates a P2P page they will be able to log into their own dashboard with a small amount of customization options available. They will be able to change their display name, make a personal fundraising goal, upload a profile image, and add their own Hero Image.
Only the donor, who is now referred to as a fundraiser, will be able to upload and change these settings, but they are not mandatory to fill out. Just like your Core Profile page, a P2P page is ready to receive donations the moment it is created.
Only one P2P page can be created per email address. If a donor would like to create and manage more than one P2P page, they will need to use a new email address for each P2P page they create.
Funds Raised Through P2P Pages
Donors and nonprofit admin do not have to do extra work to move the funds raised through a P2P page. All P2P pages have their donation forms tied to the nonprofit's account.
That means that whether someone donates through your own fundraising pages or through a donor's P2P page, all of the money is processed and sent to you the same way. This usually means that you'll be able to see all the transactions through Stripe, but if you have integrated a PayPal account then you will also need to periodically check your PayPal accounts as well for any donations made through PayPal. But in short, you and the fundraiser do not have to coordinate on management or sending of funds.
Close or Delete a P2P Page
P2P pages are tied to the pages they were created from. They remain open and available to receive donations for as long as the page it's attached to is open. If a Campaign Page is closed, all associated P2P pages close with it. This is currently the only way to close a P2P page.
Important: Since the Core Profile page cannot be closed, any P2P pages made through the Core Profile also cannot be closed. If you have a P2P page associated with your Core Profile that you need closed or deleted, please contact the Give Lively support team.
If a P2P page has not received any donations, however, it can be deleted! This is done by clicking on "Peer-To-Peer Fundraising" on the navigation bar, finding the P2P page you'd like to delete in the list, and then clicking on the "X" button to delete it.
P2P Fundraiser Contact Information
Our platform keeps contact information for all of your Peer-to-Peer supporters (or, as we like to call them, Fundraisers) in one report. You can download that report from the "Peer-To-Peer Fundraising" link in your dashboard. At the top of the page will be a button with the words "Export All Fundraiser Data." Clicking on this button will automatically send the CSV report to your email address.
Team Fundraising
Multiple P2P pages can join together and raise funds as a team for any team based events or competitions your nonprofit is hosting.
Just like P2P pages, Team Pages have to be enabled first before they can be made. You can enable each of your Campaign Pages to support having a Team Page or not by going to the Campaign Page's Basic Information section in your dashboard and clicking the checkbox found towards the lower half of the page.
Important: Team Pages can only be made for Campaign Pages. You cannot make Team pages for your Core Profile.
Create or Join a Team
Team pages are created through the same "I Want To Fundraiser For This" button as normal P2P pages are. However, the nonprofit first has to enable this option through the Campaign Page settings. Screenshot below for an example of where to find that option.
Each Campaign Page can have Team Fundraising enabled or disabled independent of each other. This gives the nonprofit control over which Campaign Pages can have teams of fundraisers and which don't.
The fundraiser who made the Team page becomes the Team Leader by default and can share the Team page with anyone, as well as add or remove teammates. Any other P2P fundraiser can join the team through a button on the Campaign Page, as well. Nonprofit admins can also add or remove members to each Team page, if needed.
Remove a Team Member or Leader
Nonprofit admins have the ability to remove most individual peer-to-peer fundraisers from teams, even if those fundraisers have raised money through the team. Only the team leader can’t be removed.
To remove a team member, follow these steps:
Click the “Peer-to-Peer Fundraising” link in the navigation bar.
Select the individual fundraiser you would like to remove.
Click the “Manage” button to the right of the fundraising page link.
Click “Team” in the tab on the left.
Click the “X” to the right of the team from which you would like to remove the fundraiser.
Ordinarily, removing a Team Leader is not possible without deleting the team page entirely which can only be done for team pages that have received no donations.
If you need to remove a Team Leader, but you want to keep the Team page active and have a new leader put in its place, that is something only Give Lively support can assist you with. When contacting us please provide a link to the team page you need the leader removed from and the name of the new team leader for the page.
Delete or Close a Team Page
Like other Give Lively pages, Team pages cannot be deleted if charges have happened through it. A Team page that has received donations through it can only be closed to further donations.
If you need to close a team page to receive further donations then Team pages are closed the same as any other P2P page. Closing the main Campaign Page that the Team page is connected to will also automatically close the Team page.
Fundraiser Donor Contact Information
P2P fundraisers can view a list of the donors that have given to just their page. For Peer-To-Peer (P2P) fundraisers that want to download that information, follow these steps:
Log into your donor portal. You can do so from this link.
Once logged in, click on “Fundraising Pages” in the left hand menu to see a list of the P2P fundraising pages you have created.
Click on the “Manage” button of the P2P page you want to download your donor data from.
The page will open automatically to your donor list with a button available named “Export Donor Data” which will send the CSV export in an e-mail to the email address you used to create the P2P page. The downloadable CSV includes: Donor Name, Donor Date, Donation Amount, and Donation Frequency.
Lastly, you can click on your name on the top left of the page to open the menu for editing this specific P2P, if you want to make further changes, or to navigate back to the donor report.
Please note that the CSV will not include offline donation amounts added to your page by the nonprofit.
