Cancel your direct debit

You can cancel your monthly donation (Direct Debit) at any time from your givestar account.

At the moment, donors need to cancel monthly donations themselves from their account (rather than Support cancelling on their behalf).

How to cancel on a web browser

  1. Go to givestar.io and sign in to your account

  2. In the top right, click the hand-with-heart icon

  3. Under Monthly Giving, you’ll see a tile showing your monthly donation, click it

  4. On the donation details screen, click cancel monthly donation

  5. Confirm the cancellation

Once cancelled, you should not be charged again for future monthly payments.

If you can’t see your monthly donation

  • Make sure you’re logged in using the same email address you used when setting up the monthly donation

  • Try refreshing the page or signing out and back in

  • Try an incognito/private browser window

    What happens after cancellation

  • Your Direct Debit/monthly donation will stop going forward

  • Any past monthly donations already processed will remain on your giving history

  • If you cancel close to a scheduled payment date, one final payment may still process depending on your bank’s timing

  • The email address on your givestar account

  • The charity name you donate to

  • A screenshot of what you see under Monthly Giving
