We know just how much vehicle squatting on our stations can impact on our users' experience, and it's a well known subject to all charging station operators, and unfortunately to date, none seem to have found a miracle solution.

💡 Solutions implemented

We're committed to finding the best solution 💪

  • In the very short term, we are doing our utmost to install no-parking signs for vehicles that are not charging.

🤓 This display is essential to make verbalization possible.

  • Our aim is to set up partnerships with the municipalities where our stations are located, so that municipal police teams can carry out surveillance rounds (with fines and impounding).

In the case of freeway service stations, the dedicated Gendarmerie platoons have also been made aware of our problem. They regularly patrol rest areas and must also come to terms with these new uses imposed by electromobility 🤓

We are therefore working to raise awareness more widely among all the players who could help us put an end to this scourge, but not only.

⚒️ On-going solutions

  • We are also testing a system for detecting "occupied" spaces, which would enable us to adjust the availability of our spaces displayed on the application.

  • Last but not least, this summer we set up a special operation: teams of Electra employees were dispatched to freeway stations every Friday to meet our users and, as far as possible, to act as a deterrent to drivers who might have been tempted to park in the wrong place.

All this won't immediately solve the incivility of drivers of combustion-powered vehicles, but we're confident that attitudes will change through education and awareness-raising 💪
