Why We Built This
On a busy daycare morning, drop-off happens at the front door, so we built functionality to support the ability to add more than one reservation at a time.
Dogs arrive faster than anyone can type. Facilities track them on a whiteboard or numbered leash hooks and enter them once the rush is over, or squeeze in a few at a time between arrivals. Either way, your front desk repeats the same booking steps for every dog.
So we built a dedicated page for walk-in daycare. Pick your offer, add the families who came in, and check everyone in with one click. Goose creates the reservations and invoices for you.
What It Means for You
Check in dozens of dogs in one submit. Add families as they walk in, or work through the whiteboard after the rush. Every dog is checked in and every family gets an invoice.
Enter dogs late without losing their arrival time. Set the batch check-in time to earlier today, and every reservation in the batch uses it.
See what matters before you submit. Each pet shows breed, tags, missing or expired vaccines, and unsigned contracts. These are reminders and never stop a check-in.
Catch double bookings first. Any dog already booked today is listed before anything is created, so you decide pet by pet whether to include them.
How It Works
Group Walk-Ins is its own page. You build a list of today's dogs, then check them all in together.
1. Open Group Walk-Ins
Click the green lightning bolt in the left navigation.
2. Set the offer and check-in time
The offer defaults to your location's top daycare offer, and the check-in time defaults to now. Change either one, and it applies to the whole batch.
3. Add families
Search by owner or pet name. The whole family is added with every pet selected, so uncheck anyone who isn't here today. A running count shows how many dogs are selected.
4. Click Check In
If a dog already has a booking today, choose Skip Pet or Book Anyway for them. A progress bar tracks the batch, and any dog that can't be checked in stays on screen with the reason so you can retry.
A Few Things to Know
Each batch is for today and uses one offer. Run a separate batch for half-day and full-day dogs, and change a pet's offer later in Invoice Management if needed.
No payment is taken at check-in. Invoices stay open and are paid at pickup through normal checkout. Membership benefits apply automatically, and packages are applied the same way they are today.
Restrictions are overridden automatically for Admins, Managers, and Employees and aren't shown on the pet rows. Customer Associates don't override restrictions, so those dogs are booked individually.
If your location sends check-in texts, owners receive them for batch check-ins too. Confirmation emails will be sent out as well.
Book Anyway creates a second reservation. If a dog was already booked for daycare today, skip them in the batch and check in their existing reservation.
A batch stays on the page until you submit or leave. Open Group Walk-Ins in its own browser tab to keep a batch going while you work elsewhere in Goose.
Each batch covers one species and pets already in Goose. New pets and families are created through the normal flow first.
