Construction Phase Plans are available on our Pro Annual Package or above.

Please contact help@handshq.com to discuss changing your package.

If you are looking for how to access the CPP division please see here.

This guide will talk you through the basics of creating a CPP including:

  • Project Details

  • Risk Assessments

  • Sequence of Operations

  • Method Statement

The workflow to create a CPP is the same as creating a RAMS. It is the overall layout and the content included in the Method Statement and Project details which varies slightly.

Project Details

When you are starting a new project, the only compulsory box to fill out is ‘Project name’ - this means that if you don’t know the rest of the information it does not matter as you can go back and edit/change the information here at a later date.

The Project Details page is more in depth than a standard RAMS and includes the following:

  • Location

  • Client Contact

  • Principal Designer

  • Principle Contractor

  • Designers

  • Site Foreman

  • Other Contacts

If not all of these are required for your project, simply leave the box blank and it will not show on the end document.

Risk Assessments

You can edit any of the risk assessments in the same way you would in a RAMS. You can see more information on how to do this here.

Sequence of Operations

You can edit any of the sequence of operations in the same way you would in a RAMS. You can see more information on how to do this here.

Method Statement

The method statement section is more in-depth in a CPP than in a standard RAMS and includes the following additional boxes:

  • Health & safety principles and objectives for the project

  • Health & safety file

  • Site Rules

  • Communications and co-operation

  • Information for contractors

  • Site meetings

  • Arrangements for principal contractor to give directions and co-ordinate other contractors

  • Security

  • Work areas access

  • Contractors parking

  • Effect of works on clients employees (specialist decanting of staff etc. temporary accommodation)

  • Contract programme

  • Access to the site and factor of adjoining sites / land use

  • Reporting on RIDDOR information

  • Contractors and materials access to site

If not all of these are required for your project, simply leave the box blank and it will not show on the end document.
