Check the app embed first. The Atlas cart drawer renders through the Atlas Cart Upsells app embed, and if it is off on your published theme, your theme's own cart drawer keeps working and Atlas never appears. Open your dashboard and look at the Theme extensions card: it should show Active.

You may also see the banner Atlas Custom Cart Drawer is not enabled on your published theme. with the instruction to activate and then save.
⚠️ Pressing Save in the theme editor is what applies the change. Opening the editor turns the toggle on; closing without saving leaves it off.
Step 2: Check a drawer is active
The embed makes Atlas *able* to show a drawer. You still need one set to Active.

If they are all drafts, open the one you want, set Cart status to Active, and select Save.

Step 3: Check you are on the right theme
The Theme extensions card reports on your published theme, named in its subtitle.
In Shopify, go to Online Store, then Themes, and note which is published.
Confirm the embed is enabled on that theme, not on a duplicate you were working in.
Step 4: Check for a conflicting app
⚠️ Only one app can own the cart drawer. Another cart drawer, slide cart or cart upsell app will conflict, and whichever loads last usually wins. Disable other cart apps and test again.
Also check for apps that replace the add-to-cart behaviour, such as sticky add-to-cart bars and quick-buy apps, which can bypass the drawer entirely.
Step 5: Clear caches
Test in a private or incognito window.
Try a different browser or your phone on mobile data.
Clear the cache in any speed or performance app on your store.
If the drawer opens but modules are missing
That is a different problem, and a much easier one. The embed is working.
Check each module in the editor: every one has an Enabled or Disabled status and shows a banner naming what is missing while it is off. Enable the ones you want, save, and confirm you are editing the drawer that is actually active.

If it broke after a theme change
This is the most common way a working drawer stops working.
App embeds are enabled per theme. Publishing a new theme, restoring a backup, or applying a theme update that replaces settings can all leave the embed off.
💡 Add "check the Atlas Cart Upsells app embed" to your routine after any theme change. The Theme extensions card shows all three Atlas extensions at once and takes two seconds to read.
