The template decides what your generated page looks like: its layout, its structure, and which sections appear. Atlas writes the copy either way, so this choice is about design rather than words. There are two routes, and the right one depends on whether you want the page to match your existing store or to look like something new.

Both sit in one grid headed Select a page template, with your own page style as the first card. A full store is different: it always uses an Atlas store template, so its grid shows the library only.
Using your own page style
Atlas uses a product template already saved in your Shopify theme: it keeps that page's sections, layout and style, and writes new copy for your product.

The card then shows Selected and the page you chose, such as Dawn · Default product. Change picks a different one, and Preview opens that page in Shopify's theme editor. Preview stays greyed out until you have chosen a page.
Searching the library hides this card. Clear the search to see it again.
Choose this when your store already has a look you are happy with, and you want new pages to be indistinguishable from the rest of it.
ℹ️ Some of your product templates may not appear in the list. Atlas filters out templates whose layout contains images and content hardcoded to one specific product, because reusing them would leak that product's images onto a different product's page. Using the Atlas library
The Atlas library holds ready-to-use page layouts, including influencer-style pages and beginner-friendly designs. They are built for conversion rather than to match any particular theme.
Every card after the first is a product page template designed by experts. Select Use template to pick one, or Preview to look at it first. Use Search templates by name & industry to narrow a long list.
The last card, Suggest a template, is for a layout the library does not have: select Let us know!, describe what you need, and add an example store link if you have one.
Choose this when you are testing a new product and want a proven layout, or when your current theme's product page is not converting and you want something different.
Changing the template after the build
The template is not permanent. Once the page is built you can:
Hide any section you do not want, in the Atlas editor
Reorder and edit blocks within sections
Change the colour palette for that page
Edit every piece of copy
To try a different template, select Change template in the editor's top bar, pick one, and select Build with this template. Atlas builds the page again from the same products, project, research and language. Your current version stays in your pages as a draft., with any edits you made, so you can compare the two.
Change template is offered for pages built from an Atlas template, on a desktop-width screen, and not during your first setup. For a page built on your own page style, build a new page and pick a different template.
