Installation Cleaning

Use this article when you have an Installation Cleaning job in the Host App. It covers what the job is about, what to bring, what you should never skip, and what to do if something is not right.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies with a cleaning credential.

What is this job about?

After the movers furnish a new Landing home, you clean the whole home, unpack and set up the housewares, and stage every room, so it is fully ready for a member to move in. See Landing Cleaning Standards.

The Landing linens are pre-washed, so they only need fluffing in the dryer, not washing. This is a critical job, so if you cannot make it, let Landing know as early as you can, because you cannot release it yourself inside 24 hours of the start time.

What do I need before I start?

Before you head to the home, check you have everything in this table. The times are a guide for each home size.

Don't skip these

Complete every task in the Host App as instructed, and upload the photos each task asks for. A job is not complete until every task is done. Pay particular attention to these:

  1.  "Assess the Home - Inspection/Maintenance Issues." If the home is 3 out of 5 or lower for quality, flag it in the Host App straight away. See Assessing a Landing Home.

  2. "Prepare Housewares Items" and "Housewares Inventory." Check everything was delivered, remove all plastic, tags, and stickers, put each item in its place, and submit the inventory form. See Houseware Inventory & Room Location.

  3. "Confirm Hallway is Clear of Trash and Vacuum." Make sure the movers left no trash or packaging in the home or the hallway, vacuum the hallway around the home, and upload a photo.

  4. "The Final Details." Set the thermostat to 72, leave the member's keys, fobs, and parking passes on the kitchen counter, return any remaining keys to the lockbox, replace the trash liners, and take all the trash with you.

What if something is not right?

The home is empty, with no furniture or housewares. Let your Coordinator know in the Host App straight away, before you start.

The linens look dirty or stained. Let Landing know through the chat rather than washing them.

Something is damaged or not working. Submit a maintenance request. See Making a Maintenance Request.

The WiFi is not set up yet. Skip connecting the TVs, and let Landing know so it can be done before the member moves in.
