If you want to make absolutely sure that your app is working and that you will get alerts for jobs in your area, here are a few steps you can take right now.
Check your settings
First, you'll want to go to the Settings on your phone or tablet and make sure that both location services and notifications are enabled for the HONK Partner app. Once you've made sure those are enabled, make sure that your phone doesn't need an update. You'll also want to make sure that you have available storage on your phone. For more information on how to check and see if your phone needs an update and/or how to check your phone's storage check out on of these articles. We've created detailed articles, for IOS phones and for Android phones.
Make sure all of your operator/dispatchers are full set up
Next, check your My Team page on joinHONK.com. It's crucial that all of your operators and dispatchers are at 100%. If any of your operators or dispatchers are under 100%, that could affect your ability to properly dispatch them via the app. Common percentages your operator/dispatcher may be stuck at:
10% - operator/dispatcher has been invited via a text message to download the app and have not run a background check
25% - operator/dispatcher has logged into the app, but has not turned locations services on, given permission to send push notifications to their app and have not started the background check process
45% - operator/dispatcher has allowed either turned location services on OR allowed push notifications. BOTH of these permissions are required. The operator/dispatcher have not begun the background check process
65% - operator/dispatcher has fully set up their app however, they have not begun the background check process. The operator/dispatcher will stay at 65% until the background check has been fully processed.
Check out this article for more information on getting your operator/dispatcher to 100%.
Send a test notification
Once you've made sure that all of your operator/dispatchers are at 100%, send each one a test notification. Test notifications can only be sent to operators/dispatchers that are properly set up and are marked On Duty. On the My Team page, each of your operators/dispatchers will be displayed. Click on their name and an option will read "Send Test to Employee's Phone". Clicking that button will send a test notification to that phone. For more information on sending a test notification, check out this article.
Make sure all of your operator/dispatchers are On Duty
You'll want to make sure that all of your operator/dispatchers are marked On Duty. On Duty means you'll get alerted of jobs in your area. Off Duty means you won't get any alerts. Open the HONK Partner app and click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner. From there, click on the Profile page. You'll see the option On Duty with a button next to it. If it's greyed out - that means you're Off Duty. You'll know you're On Duty when it's green. For more detailed information, check out this article.
Check your dispatching contact method
If your'e still experiencing issues, you'll want to check that your contact method is set up properly. You can set up the HONK Partner app two ways, direct to operator or direct to dispatcher. Direct to operator means jobs will be sent to any app marked as operator. Direct to dispatcher means jobs will only be sent to apps marked as dispatcher. From there, the dispatcher can select which operator to send the job to. You want to make sure that the contact method matches how you have set up your My Team. For example, if all of your team is set up as operators but your contact method is direct to dispatcher, your app will seem like it's not working because you are not being alerted to jobs. For a step by step guide, check out this article.
A properly set up My Team page and HONK Partner app
Once you've ensured that your dispatcher/operator(s) are set up properly your My Team page should look like this:
You can see that both operators are at 100% and On Duty. Under "Who do we contact?" you see that direct to operators is selected and both team members are listed as operators.
If you have operators that no longer work for you company, it's best that you delete them from your My Team page. For more information on how to delete operators, check out this article.
An app that is On Duty will look like this for your dispatcher and/or operator(s):
