iCare API Integration

Updated over 2 years ago

For accounts with a NSW iCare policy, our system includes functionality that allows you to automatically send new injuries to iCare and receive claim numbers from iCare, all in real time via an API. In addition to this, you can also send single documents to icare via the API.

TURNING THE FUNCTIONALITY ON

To turn this process on for any relevant NSW policy, where new injuries should go to iCare, follow the below steps:

1. Navigate to your Policies page via Settings, and then click on ‘Organisation’ from your side menu, and select ‘Policies/Workplaces’.

2. Find the NSW policy you need, and click on the ‘Edit’ icon

3. Set the “Policy Type” to “Insurer Scheme – NSW” and the insurer to “iCare”

Once the above is completed, you should see a checkbox further down the page labelled “Insurer API Integration”. If you check this box, you will see an “iCare Policy Number” field. You need to enter the policy number as specified by iCare. This will likely be the same as the “Policy Number” already on the policy, although iCare may have a separate Policy Number to what the insurer originally provided. You can confirm this with iCare.

Once completed click 'Save' and you're all set!

SENDING INITIAL NOTIFICATIONS TO ICARE

To send injuries to iCare, simply complete the “Initial Notification” from the injury Summary page.

When saving the Initial Notification, a message will pop up confirming the claim number has been received successfully – indicating iCare have both received the injury and has loaded the claim number.

SENDING DOCUMENTS TO ICARE

You can also send single documents to iCare via the API.

Find the document you wish to send to iCare and click on the menu icon on the right side.

The menu will give you the option to “Send to iCare” option

Select “Send to iCare” and the system will ask you if you are sure you want to send that.

Select “OK”. You will then get a message confirming it was sent successfully.
