The Timeframes page has been designed to help capture statutory timeframes for decision-making on Comcare claims. The page can be found under the Claim Management section in the side menu of a record.
This article will guide you through how to add statutory timeframes to ensure compliance with the SRC Act.
We encourage you to become familiar with these adjustments to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Add a new Timeframe record
Users can only add timeframe details if the first liability status is/ or was Undetermined
You can add a new Timeframe record by selecting the option from the Add Information drop-down, which is visible on the Summary page or by navigating to the Timeframe page within the Claim Management sub-menu and using the Add button.
Once you've selected to add a new record a page will appear for you to enter the required information.
Field Name | Definition |
Situation Classification | A mandatory drop-down field. You will need to select the classification that applies from the available list. |
Identifier | A read-only field. A numerical identifier will be automatically allocated once the record has been saved. |
Start Date | A mandatory field. You can enter a value by typing the date directly into the field or by clicking on the calendar icon to manually select the applicable date. |
End Date | A non-mandatory field. You can enter a value by typing the date directly into the field or by clicking on the calendar icon to manually select the applicable date. |
A red asterisk denotes mandatory/required fields. If you have missed any of these fields, upon saving the record you will see red validations appear at the bottom of the page and can't save the record until those fields have been completed.
After saving the Timeframe record, you will be directed to the Timeframe grid where you can view the saved details.
You will notice a numerical identifier has automatically been assigned to the record

Liability Decision required [SI] (Comcare) task
The ‘Liability decision required [SI] Comcare’ task is an existing system task that has been updated to consider any timeframe records. This task will only trigger where there are no incomplete timeframes against the record.
The system determines the due date of this task using the following rationale:
If NO Timeframes
Due Date = Received By Claims Processing At + 19 or 59 days
If ANY incomplete timeframes this task is not triggered
If ALL completed timeframes
Due Date = Received By Claims Processing At + Unique Timeframe Days + 19 or 59 days
Reporting on Timeframe records
The timeframe fields are also available in Power Reports '22 and can be found by expanding the Self Insurance Claims group, followed by the Comcare Claims - Timeframes group.

Can I still edit a timeframe record once the Liability Status changes from Undetermined?
Can I still edit a timeframe record once the Liability Status changes from Undetermined?
Yes, you can still edit previously entered timeframes once the liability status changes from Undetermined.
Is a new 'Timeframe followup required' task created for each timeframe that doesn't have an end date?
Is a new 'Timeframe followup required' task created for each timeframe that doesn't have an end date?
No, you will not see a task for every incomplete timeframe record. Instead, the system will determine the due date for the follow-up based on the earliest record added.
Once an end date has been added to that task, the system will re-check the timeframes and change the task due date to pick up the next outstanding timeframe. This will continue until all Timeframe records have an end date. This is regardless of the Liability Status.
