My eSIM is installed, but I cannot connect to a network. What should I do?

Updated over 3 months ago

If you are still at home

If you have activated your eSIM before you travel to your destination, it won’t connect to a mobile network; it can use mobile data only when connected to the correct local provider network. Not to worry, just turn off the eSIM and turn it back on once you are at your destination.

If you have arrived at your destination

Please make sure that you have done the following activation steps:

  1. Your eSIM is turned ON for Mobile Data

  2. You have turned ON Data Roaming

  3. If required, you have set the correct Access Point Name (APN)

  4. You still have data remaining (data has not been used up)

  5. You are connected to the correct local network

How to check which is the correct network?

Devices are normally set up to automatically select the network, and sometimes, the eSIM may try to connect to the wrong network.

In the app:

  1. Tap on the eSIM screen (the icon in the middle of the bottom menu),

  2. Then tap on the ℹ️icon on your eSIM

  3. In the General Information section, you will see the network

On your phone:

  1. Go to your eSIM

  2. Toggle OFF ‘Automatically select network’

  3. Manually choose the network with the best signal

You should now see the network speed on the top right corner of your device and the eSIM status in the app should change to ‘🟢Active’.

If all of the above is done, and you’re still not seeing the network speed at the top right corner of your device, and the app still shows ‘🟢Installed’ but ‘🔴Not Active’, try these troubleshooting steps next:

  1. Turn Airplane mode ON and OFF

  2. Turn Data Roaming OFF then back ON

  3. Turn your Hubby eSIM OFF and then back ON

  4. Restart your device
