What Are the Exchange Options Available and the Process for Completing an Exchange?

Customers seeking to return or exchange a product with Infotainment can select between two main exchange options. Below is a detailed guide to help you understand these options and the steps involved.

Overview of Exchange Options

Infotainment offers two types of exchange services to cater to various needs:

  1. Traditional Exchange: In this option, you ship your unit back to the facility. Please contact our advisors to initiate the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). If the product is damaged or defective, a return label will be issued. Once the unit is received, the RMA is processed, and a replacement is shipped.

  2. Advanced Exchange: This option expedites the process. A replacement unit is shipped the same day (with exceptions for items requiring quality control) upon submission of a refundable deposit. The deposit is reimbursed once the first received returned unit is received at the facility. International Considerations: For international locations, such as Canada, shipping labels may not be provided. Customers will be responsible for all associated shipping or duty fees as per the policy. Additionally, for Traditional Exchange, customers have the option to request expedited shipping for their replacement after the returned product has been processed and approved. For advanced exchanges, the deposit payment process involves receiving an emailed invoice for the deposit amount. Customers can conveniently pay online using a credit or debit card to trigger the replacement unit shipment.

Step-by-Step Guide to Completing an Exchange

Traditional Exchange

  1. Initiate the return process by requesting an RMA.

  2. Package and ship your unit back to the designated Infotainment facility.

  3. Once the unit is received, the replacement is processed and shipped to you.

Advanced Exchange

  1. Advance Exchanges must be created by a representative. An automated advance exchange is not an option at this time. Please reach out to a representative to initiate the process.

  2. Wait for the replacement unit to arrive (usually shipped the same day if no additional quality control measures are needed).

  3. Send your original unit back after receiving the replacement.

  4. Upon receipt of the returned unit, your deposit will be refunded. Note: If you reside in international locations, shipping labels may not be provided, and you will need to arrange and cover the cost of return shipping. Along with invoicing for the deposit, shipping labels are provided to facilitate hassle-free returns. Refunds are processed after product inspection to ensure a returned unit meets the acceptance criteria.

What Happens After You Ship the Unit Back?

Once your returned unit reaches the Infotainment facility, the following steps occur:

  1. The unit is checked into the system to confirm receipt.

  2. A new replacement order is created and processed.

  3. You will receive an email with the tracking number once the replacement unit is shipped.

Key Points to Keep in Mind

  • For international replacements, shipping and customs fees must be covered by the customer.

  • Refundable deposits for advanced exchanges are processed promptly after receiving the returned unit.- All deposits are invoiced electronically, and payment can be made securely online via credit or debit card. The merchant does not store card details to ensure data security during the transaction process.

  • Ensure proper packaging to avoid damage during transit.

  • Use the tracking number provided to monitor your shipment status.

  • Delays may occur if the returned unit doesn’t meet the required acceptance criteria.

By understanding these options and steps, you can smoothly navigate the exchange process and minimize potential delays.

Limitations on Partial Replacements

Some products cannot be partially replaced due to specific manufacturing requirements. Sealed and calibrated units, such as light assemblies, are designed to function as complete systems, and replacing individual components may compromise their integrity.

Core Return Policies

For certain orders, such as purchasing a factory radio, returning the original part may not be required. In most cases, a core return is not expected, allowing customers greater flexibility. Additionally, products that are sealed and pre-calibrated during manufacturing, such as light assemblies, often cannot be partially replaced as replacing individual components risks compromising the unit's functionality.
