Tags are labels you assign to contacts to group them based on shared characteristics, behaviours, or campaign interactions. You can use tags to filter your audience when creating segments and to trigger automated workflows. This article explains what tags are and how to create and manage them.
What is a Tag?
A tag is a label that you attach to one or more contacts. Tags are flexible: you can use them to mark contacts who attended a specific event, signed up via a particular campaign, belong to a certain group, or match any other criteria that matters to your organisation.
Once a tag is assigned to a contact, it appears on their contact profile and can be used as a filter when building segments. Tags can be assigned manually from the contact profile, automatically via a workflow, or through a landing page form using a Tags field.
The Tags Overview
Tags are managed under Audience > Settings > Tags. The overview shows all tags in your account, how many contacts have been tagged with each tag, and the date the tag was created. You can search for a specific tag using the search bar at the top of the page.
How to Create a Tag
Step 1: Go to Innercrowd Dashboard > Audience > Settings > Tags.
Step 2: Click Create Tag in the top right corner. The Create Tag pop-up will appear.
Step 3: Enter a tag name and click Create Tag. Your new tag will appear in the tags overview and is now available to use across segments, workflows, and landing page fields.
Managing Existing Tags
To rename or remove a tag, click the three-dot menu in the Actions column next to the tag. Two options will appear:
Rename allows you to update the tag name. The tag will be updated across all contacts it is currently assigned to.
Remove deletes the tag from your account and removes it from all contacts it was assigned to. This action cannot be undone.
