Private support channels (under Talk in the left menu) let learners talk directly, and privately, with their course facilitator(s).
How to set up Private support channels
Private support channels must be enabled in iQualify settings by your account owner.
Tip: Account owners can also change the default name (Facilitator support) of the channel to whatever works for their organisation.
Once enabled for the organisation, Private channels can be toggled On/Off for a particular class activation by a manage user.
How to use Private support channels
Learners can view the Private channel once a facilitator has been added to the course.
From there, learners can choose to initiate private conversations with their facilitators.
Note: Facilitators cannot start private conversations with learners.
All course facilitators can view messages that learners post in the Private talk channel. But learners cannot view other learner's posts in this channel.
Facilitators can also filter messages to hide posts that have been read or responded to.
How to find new posts
As with Public channels, when there is a new post, you'll see a green dot by Talk and by the channel itself.
How to get email updates for Private support channels
By default, when people respond to a post you've made (or replied to), you'll get an in-app notification (found in the Bell in the top right). And if you've set your preferences to allow email or text, you'll get an email/text too.
As with public Talk channels, you can also choose to Get email updates for new posts in private channels.
