Requesting a Prescription Change

Looking to request a prescription change? Depending on your prescription status and the reason why you want a change, there are different ways to get started.

Main Reasons for Requesting a Prescription Change:

  • The prescribed medication is on back order (there is a shortage)

  • You changed your mind and prefer another medication

  • You want a higher or lower dosage of the same medication

New Prescription - Before You Start Taking Medication

If you'd like to request a prescription change immediately after you've been prescribed, and before you've started taking the medication, please reach out to the care team via this chat, or by email at care@joinlivewell.ca.

Please be sure to explain why you are requesting the change.

Main Reasons for Requesting a Prescription Change:

  • The prescribed medication is on back order (there is a shortage)

  • You changed your mind and prefer another medication

  • You want a higher or lower dosage of the same medication


Active Prescription - After You Start Taking Medication

If you'd like to request a medication change after you've already started taking your medication, you'll need to complete a follow-up consultation.

To start your follow-up consultation, you can click on the "Renew Prescription" button on the Subscriptions tab of your patient dashboard.
