Multibuy allows customers to purchase combinations of tickets in a single transaction. You can use this feature to allow customers to add different tickets, and even tickets for your other events, into their basket. For example:

  • A customer can purchase a ticket for the 5km race AND the 10km race, happening at the same event

  • A customer can purchase a ticket for your September event as well as your later October event

Benefits:

  • Cross-sell your other events that the customer may be interested in purchasing

  • Customers save time by making a single transaction rather than multiple

  • You can use the feature in combination with Bulk Buy to offer discounts for purchasing multiple tickets

    • EOs have seen an uplift in ticket revenue of up to 10%, and higher participant retention rates

Some key considerations when choosing to enable Multibuy are also outlined below, including:

  • Working with other features such as Bulk Buy, Payment Plans, Teams, and Refunds

Multibuy options

Without Multibuy, a customer will only be allowed to purchase one ticket type at a time.

  • Example: Hallie can buy tickets to the September event’s 10km race, BUT she would need to purchase tickets to the 5km race (also happening the same event) in a separate transaction

With Multibuy, you have options to allow a customer to buy ticket combinations for:

  • A single event only

    • Example: Hallie can buy tickets both the 5km AND the 10km race at the September event, BUT she will need to purchase any October event tickets in a separate transaction.

  • Any of your other events (which also have Multibuy enabled)

    • Example: Hallie can buy tickets to any of the September event’s races AND the October event’s races at the same time

What is the Multibuy customer experience?

If Multibuy is enabled for “Any of your other Multibuy events”, your customer will see a “Select more events” button during the checkout:

From here, they can select other tickets to add to their basket. If they are purchasing tickets to different races at the same event, we’ll also display a warning that the races may be happening simultaneously.

During Checkout, they’ll see separate sections to complete their registration for each event.

They will receive separate confirmation emails for each ticket they have registered for.

Enabling Multibuy

Multibuy can be enabled at the event-level.

In Manage Event, navigate to the Event Details tab. Scroll down to the Sales Options section, enable the toggle and choose your options.

⚠️ If you select “Any of your other Multibuy events” you’ll also need to navigate your other relevant events and enable the same Multibuy setting on each of them.

Using Multibuy with other Let’s Do This features

If you’re interested in using Multibuy in conjuction with other advanced Let’s Do This feature, we recommend contacting your Account Manager to walk through your specific setup in more detail.

Bulk Buy

Multibuy is designed to work well in combination with Bulk Buy, so you can offer discounts for purchasing multiple tickets. (Note that all events need to have Bulk Buy enabled.) Navigate to the “Bulk Buy” section on your Organizer Dashboard to set up your discounts:

Payment Plans (coming soon)

It’s possible to enable Multibuy on an event that uses Payment Plans, as the plan will adjust dynamically according to the start dates of the events the customer has selected - learn more here.

Teams

It’s possible to enable Multibuy on an event that has tickets using a Teams Program. However, the Teams option in the checkout will be skipped if the customer purchases tickets across multiple events. This is to avoid complexity in creating Teams across multiple groups of participants and events.

⚠️ If Teams is a core part of your event experience, consider enabling Multibuy for “This event only” so that customers can still purchase multiple tickets and create their Teams for the specific event.
