TL;DR: You can manage your payments, update your credit card, or change your plan by visiting the Billing section in your Account Settings to access the secure Stripe portal.

We want to make managing your LearnSpark account as easy as possible. Whether you need to update your payment method, download an old invoice, or change your subscription level, you can do it all in one secure place.

LearnSpark uses Stripe to handle billing. This is a world-class payment processor that keeps your financial information safe and private.

How to Access the Billing Portal

You can reach your billing settings from any page on the platform. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Click on your Profile Icon or Name in the bottom left corner of the sidebar.

  2. Select Account Settings from the menu that appears.

  3. Once you are in the settings area, look for the Billing tab.

  4. Click the button labeled Manage Subscription. This will safely take you to the secure Stripe billing portal.

💡 Good to know: For your security, the billing portal is hosted on Stripe's own website. Once you finish making changes, click the "Return to LearnSpark" link to come back to your dashboard.

What You Can Do in the Billing Portal

Once you are inside the Stripe portal, you have full control over your financial details. You can:

  • Update Payment Methods: Add a new credit card or change your default payment method.

  • View Billing History: See all your previous payments and download PDF copies of your invoices.

  • Change Your Plan: Upgrade or downgrade your current subscription level based on your needs.

  • Cancel Subscription: If you need to take a break, you can cancel your subscription here at any time.

⚠️ Heads up: If you cancel your subscription, you will still have access to your account until the end of your current billing period.

Understanding Credits and Downgrades

SparkAI credits power nearly everything you do to personalize your LearnSpark experience. They are used for generating lessons, updating mastery profiles, and planning adventures.

If you find that you aren't using many credits in a certain month, you can downgrade your account through the portal. Your account will be pro-rate billed based on what you have and haven't used. This means we calculate the difference between the plans so you only pay for your actual usage. It’s a great way to make sure you’re getting the best value for your family!

Is my credit card information stored on LearnSpark?

No. For your safety, LearnSpark never stores your credit card details. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe.

If you use up all your credits, you can purchase credit top-up packs. These ensure your SparkAI features and personalization tools continue to work until your next month starts.

How do I change my billing address for invoices?

You can update your billing address and email address for receipts within the Stripe portal. Look under the "Billing Information" section.

What happens if my payment fails?

If a payment doesn't go through, Stripe will automatically try again over the next few days. You will also receive an email with a link to update your payment method.

Can I get a refund if I forget to cancel?
