The Cases Homepage contains three primary sections arranged for optimal workflow efficiency.
1. Critical Case Actions Dashboard
Location: Top of the Cases Homepage
Purpose: Display urgent tasks and high priority items requiring immediate attention across all cases assigned to the fee earner.
Information Displayed:
Urgent tasks and high priority items related to cases assigned to the individual fee earner
Each task is displayed as an actionable card within the dashboard
Interactive Elements:
Action Button – Click the large button on each task card to action the high priority task directly
Three Dot Menu (…) – Click for additional actions available for each task, including:
Contact the Client
Draft a Response
Schedule a Meeting
Update Records
Additional actions may be available depending on the specific task type.
2. Case List Panel
Location: Below the Critical Case Actions Dashboard
Purpose: Display all cases assigned to the fee earner with key case details and navigation tabs for quick access.
Navigation Tabs:
The case list includes three navigation tabs at the top of the panel:
My Open Cases – Displays all currently open cases assigned to the fee earner (default view)
Favourites – Displays cases the user has marked as favourites for quick access
Recents – Displays cases the user has recently opened
Case Information Columns:
Each case in the list displays the following information as columns:
Case Name – The title or description of the matter
Client – The name of the client associated with the case
Case Reference – The unique case identifier
Status – The current status of the case
Unbilled Amount – The current unbilled work in progress value
Fee Earner – The fee earner responsible for the case
3. Case List Filtering
Location: Three dot menu button above the case list
Purpose: Provide advanced filtering options to help users quickly locate specific cases.
Pre-defined Filters:
The following pre-defined filter options are available from the three dot menu:
Urgent – Cases marked as urgent by the user
Due This Week – Cases with deadlines falling within the current week
High WIP – Cases with high work in progress values
Overdue – Cases that have passed their target completion date
Deadlines Today – Cases with deadlines on the current date
No Activity 7+ Days – Cases with no recorded activity for seven days or more
Missing Documents – Cases flagged for missing documentation
Pending Payments – Cases with outstanding payment actions
Custom Filters:
Users can create custom filters by pressing the Create Custom Filter button. The custom filter configuration includes:
Filter Name – A user-defined name for the custom filter
Filter Icon – An icon to visually identify the filter
Filter Criteria – Defined by selecting:
• Field – The data field to filter on
• Operation – The comparison type (Contains, Equal, Starts With, Greater Than, Less Than, Does Not Contain)
• Value – The value to filter against
