How to Enable Retakes for Assesslets - For Administrators

  1. In the left menu, navigate to the desired subject under the Assesslet Activities section. (Retake is NOT available for ELA Assesslets)

  2. Locate the Assesslet you want to allow retakes for and click on the underlined title.

  3. In the details section, find the Retake option. Check the box to enable retakes or uncheck it to disable them. When enabled, you can also set an end date for retake availability (optional).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If retakes are turned off while students are mid-assessment on a retake, they will be logged out, and their progress will not be saved. However, scores from any previously completed retakes will remain unaffected.

Teacher Options for Retakes on Assesslets (When Enabled)

When a retake is enabled for an Assesslet, teachers can choose to assign a retake with one of the four presentation options:

  1. Missed Items Only - Prior Answers Shown: Students will see only the items they missed, along with their previous answers shown.

  2. Missed Items Only - Prior Answers Hidden: Students will see only the items they missed, without their previous answers displayed.

  3. All Items - Prior Answers Shown: Students will see the entire assessment with their previous answers shown.

  4. All Items - Prior Answers Hidden: Students will see the entire assessment without their previous answers displayed.

Note: Students who received a 100 on the original Assesslet will be marked as ineligible for a retake for the "Missed Items Only" options.

How to Assign a Retake - For Teachers

  1. In the left menu, navigate to the desired subject under the Assesslet Activities section. (Retake is NOT available for ELA Assesslets)

  2. Find the Assesslet you wish to assign a retake for and click on the green Assign Retake button. Please Note: This button will only appear after at least one student has received a score.

  3. Click on the Assign Retake button

    • Select one of the four retake options listed based on your teaching strategy and the needs of your students.

  4. The app will then create a new Assesslet copy with “Retake” appended to the title.

  5. In the new panel that opens to the right, select the students or classes you wish to assign a retake to. Please Note: If there are students not shown, they have not completed/received a score yet on the original assessment. They will need to have a score to be able to have a retake assigned.

Additional Notes

  • Retake data is kept separate from original data and shown in a distinct column on the Reports page for clear reporting.

  • Removing access to an Assesslet will also remove the retake option if it was enabled.

  • Teachers can assign one retake per completed Assesslet, if enabled.

  • Students will only see the retake option if it has been explicitly assigned by their teacher.
