Viewing and Engaging with Specific Sessions of a Study on Lifeway On Demand

Once you've selected a study in the Lifeway On Demand app, you can dive into each session at your own pace.

This guide will walk you through how to select a study, view specific sessions, and use the player’s features for an enhanced viewing experience.

Library Search


The Library now includes a helpful Search option at the top of the screen. As you type, the app will suggest results that match your studies, events, and eBooks. You’ll see titles, authors, and contributors that match your search appear in real-time.

To view full results, press search or tap a suggested search result. From there, you can:

  • Scroll through a list of matching results

  • Filter by content type (Study, Event, eBook)

  • Select any result to jump right in

Search is designed to help you quickly find the content you’re looking for so you can stay focused on the study or event that matters most.

Viewing and Selecting a Study

Navigate to the "All Studies" Section:

  • After signing in, you will be taken to the "All Studies" section. Here, you can scroll through all the studies you have acquired or redeemed.

  • Each study is displayed with its Study Cover, Title, and Author(s).

Sort Studies (Optional):

  • You can sort your studies by the most recently accessed or alphabetically (A-Z, Z-A) by selecting the Sort Option near the top of the screen.

Select a Study:

  • Tap on the study you’d like to engage with. This will open up the full list of sessions available for that study.

Accessing the First Session

Once you have selected a study:

  • The app will automatically open and start playing the first video session at the top of the screen.

  • You will see the video player display, and the first session will be ready for viewing.

Tracking Your Progress

As you watch each session, the app tracks your progress:

  • A progress bar in each session shows how much of the video you’ve completed.

  • After completing a session, the app will suggest the next session with the "Up Next" option for seamless viewing.

Navigating the Video Player

The video player offers several controls to enhance your viewing experience:

Play/Pause:

Start or pause the video at any time by tapping the Play or Pause button.

Rewind/Fast Forward:

  • Drag the progress bar to manually navigate through the video.

  • Use the 10-second buttons to quickly rewind or fast forward in 10-second increments.

Closed Captions:

If captions are available for that specific study and session you can enable them directly from the player.

Full Screen Mode:

Tap the Full Screen button to expand the video to fill your entire device screen.

Casting to Another Device:

Cast the video to a larger screen via AirPlay, Chromecast, or connect to a Bluetooth-enabled device by selecting the cast icon in the top-right corner.

Managing Video Settings

You can adjust the playback settings to suit your preferences:

Playback Speed:

Select from the following playback speeds:

  • 0.5x (slower)

  • 0.75x

  • 1x (normal speed)

  • 1.25x

  • 1.5x

  • 2x (faster)

To change the playback speed, tap the Settings button (gear icon) and select your desired speed.

Using the Mini Player

When you're watching a video session in the app, you can continue exploring and engaging with other content using the Mini Player.

This allows you to:

  • Start watching a session, then swipe down to minimize the player.

  • Keep the video playing in a small window across the bottom of the screen.

  • Tap the Mini Player at any time to return to full screen mode.

  • Pause and play directly from the Mini Player.

  • Continue reading Scripture or Study Resources while a session plays in the background.

  • Close the Mini Player by clicking the X to the right of the player or just navigate to a different Study.

The Mini Player enhances your ability to multitask, watching teaching while reading your Bible or navigating other resources in the app.
