🟢 What Are “Business Hours”?
During business hours, splitting rent works normally:
When you confirm your split within these hours, your plan activates right away.
Your rent payment is sent immediately via ACH.
Only the standard origination fee applies (no “Scheduled Split” or “Instant Split” options).
Split-rent Business hours: Monday–Friday, 6 AM–3 PM ET
(Set by the ACH banking network — separate from Livble Support hours.)
Weekends & holidays are outside of business hours.
Splitting rent during these times triggers after-hours options (Instant-Split or Scheduled-Split, when available).
Support hours: Monday–Friday, 7 AM–7 PM ET
(Different from split-rent business hours.)
🌙 Splitting Rent After Business Hours
You can still split rent outside business hours with two possible paths:
Instant-Split (extra $10): Rent is paid immediately, ensuring no late fees.
Schedule Split (no extra fee): Your rent will be scheduled to pay on the next business day during the 2–3 PM ET window.
(Only available if the scheduled payment still falls before the 4th, so you don’t risk late fees.)
💡If you pick Scheduled Split, your dashboard will show a banner like:
“We will pay your rent on [Scheduled Installment Date], between 2–3 PM ET. Please ensure you have [$Installment Amount + $ Origination Fee Amount] in your account at that time.”
While that banner is present and your first installment shows Pending, your landlord hasn’t been paid yet — Livble will pay your rent and debit your first installment (and origination fee) at the next 2–3 PM ET business window. If your account doesn’t have enough funds when that scheduled payment runs, your rent payment will fail, your landlord won’t be paid, and you’ll need to start a new split.
You can also wait and split during the next split-rent business hours — but be careful:
⚠️ If late fees appear on your ledger while waiting, you’ll become ineligible to split rent for that month.
🚫 When “Schedule” Option Isn’t Available
If splitting after the 3rd of the month, the Schedule option will disappear. This prevents delays that could push your rent into a "late" status.
We want to prevent residents from incurring late fees from their property management as much as possible.
After this cutoff, you’ll only see “Split rent instantly.” You can wait until the next split-rent business hours, but that risks late fees. Once a late fee posts to your ledger, you’ll no longer be eligible to split rent for that month.
💵 How Much Does It Cost?
Day of Month | During Business Hours | After Hours – Scheduled | After Hours – Instant |
By the 1st | $30 | $30 | $40 |
2nd | $35 | $35 | $45 |
3rd | $35 | $35 | $45 |
4th onward | $40 | Not available | $50 |
Instant-Split Fee: +$10 added to your regular origination fee when paying outside business hours.
✅ Best Practices
Split during split-rent business hours → lowest cost.
Have funds ready: Your first installment, origination fee, and any Instant-Split fee (if chosen) are due immediately. If funds aren’t available, your split-rent will not go through, and rent won’t be paid.
If you wait: Check your ledger first — any late fee posted will make you ineligible to split rent for that month.
Use Instant-Split if close to late fees: It locks in rent payment immediately and protects future eligibility.
💬 FAQ
Q: Why is there an Instant-Split fee?
A: After hours, payments require a special process to move funds outside normal bank cutoffs. That extra step adds $10 to your fee.
Q: Why can’t I schedule after hours sometimes?
A: If delaying could risk late payment (especially on or after the 4th), the Schedule option is disabled to protect you from late fees. You’ll always still have the option to choose Instant-Split.
Q: Does Instant-Split mean my landlord gets paid right away?
A: Yes. Livble sends your full rent immediately via ACH the moment you split rent — whether during split-rent business hours or using Instant-Split.
If you schedule your rent, we’ll pay your rent on the date you chose (next business day during the 2–3 PM ET window) after your first payment is debited.
Your portal may mark rent as paid once ACH is initiated or when funds are fully deposited (1–2 business days) — timing depends on your property manager.
Q: Can I just wait and split tomorrow (next business day)?
A: Yes, but check your ledger first. If a late fee posts while waiting, you’ll no longer be eligible to split rent that month.
Q: Do split-rent business hours match Livble Support hours?
A: No. Split-rent hours are based on the banking network (Mon–Fri, 6 AM–3 PM ET). Support is open Mon–Fri, 7 AM–7 PM ET.
