Important update: As of 11 March 2026, Driver Logs Are No Longer Automatically Emailed to Employers
When you complete a log under a company, it is no longer automatically emailed to them as a PDF attachment.
Instead, transport companies now access driver logs through the Log Ninja Company Portal (which requires a paid company subscription).
If the company you are working for does not use the portal, they may ask you to download your log from the app and email it to them directly for their compliance records. The mobile app remains completely free for you to use.
To download your log records, you will need to use the History section in the mobile app.
Make sure you have a stable internet or mobile connection before you start, as a poor signal can cause the download to fail or stall. Please note you can only export a maximum of eight logs at a single time.
Selecting and Exporting Your Logs
Open the Log Ninja app.
Log in with your password or PIN.
Tap the History tab on the Overview screen.
Select up to eight logs you want to download.
Tap the orange arrow icon (
>) to view and select logs from other work periods if required.Tap the Export Selected button.
Saving Your File
Saving your downloaded logs will depend on what kind of phone you are using.
Apple (iOS): Tap the Share icon (the square with an upward arrow), select Save to Files, and choose where you want to save the document on your iPhone.
Android: Wait for the Save as prompt to appear automatically, pick your storage location, and confirm the download.
Viewing Your Logs
Open the file manager app on your phone, such as Files for Apple or My Files for Android.
Navigate to the folder where you saved the document to open and review your downloaded logs.
Troubleshooting Export Issues
If the export is slow or does not work, check your internet or mobile connection and try again. Reach out to our support team for help if the export is still not working.
