Create tailored VIP Tiers to boost customer loyalty

Introduction

Encourage your dedicated customers to further connect with your brand using the adaptable tiered programs provided by Loyoly. Crafting a personalized VIP Tier loyalty initiative has demonstrated its ability to elevate customer involvement, loyalty, and the overall value they bring to your brand.

By providing varying rewards at different loyalty tiers, customers are encouraged to accumulate loyalty points through specific achievements like referring a friend or reaching a certain spending amount. This setup results in a mutually beneficial program for both you and your customers, offering VIP benefits, discounts, and more.

Overview

At the heart of the VIP Program are the VIP Tiers—by default these are Bronze, Silver, and Gold—providing an escalating hierarchy of benefits for your customers. While these tiers come pre-set, they can be customized to align with your brand's aesthetics and philosophy.

VIP Program Status

This toggle switch at the top of the page turns the program ON or OFF. Customers will not be able progress through tiers or view the program if this switch is toggled off.

VIP Tiers

VIP Tiers are the levels that your customers progress through in the VIP Program. You have the flexibility to add 5 tiers maximum, with at least one being mandatory.

Each tier's name, goal to reach, rewards, and other details can be customized by clicking on 'Edit.'

Program start date

This setting determines the official start date for your VIP Program, marking the day from which points or purchases begin to count towards advancing through the VIP tiers. For example, if a customer has gathered 500 points (200 in January and 300 in March), and your Program Start Date is set in February, only the 300 points earned from February onwards will be considered for reaching the next VIP tier.

📝 Note: we can only track customer activity from the moment the app has been installed onward.

Method of access to VIP levels

This section allows you to define the criteria for how customers advance through VIP tiers.

  1. Points Earned: Opt for this method if you want the progression through VIP tiers to be based on the total points earned by your customers through orders, referral and missions.

  2. Amount Spent: Choose this method if you wish for your VIP tiers to be determined by the total amount spent by your customers.

Expiration date

This section allows you to specify the duration within which customers must achieve a VIP Tier.

  1. One rolling year : Select this if you want to set a time limit for your VIP tiers.

    After this period, they reset to their current tier's starting point. Having a defined time limit can stimulate increased customer activity and engagement.

  2. A Lifetime: Choose this option if you want to give your customers an unlimited timeframe to reach the different VIP Tiers once they become members of your loyalty program. This approach offers a more generous and leisurely pace for your customers.

Customize the VIP area

Customize the visual appearance of your various tiers from the VIP area or from the Branding tab.

You can change the text and block color for each tier.


Common questions

Can I add less than 3 VIP tiers to my program?

Yes! However, the minimum number of Tier's that you'll need to have is 1.

How many Tiers should I add to my Loyalty Program?

As a general rule of thumb, using a simple 2-4 Tier program seems to be the most effective.

Do refunded purchases impact a customer's tier eligibility and status?

Once a refund is successfully processed, the customer's tier eligibility is automatically recalculated. In the event that the customer is no longer eligible for their tier status as a result, they will be downgraded.
