Introduction
In this article, you'll find out how to create and set up a "Birthday" mission.
This classic mission allows users to quickly earn points that they can then exchange for rewards.
Why activate this mission?
Asking customers for their birthdays enables you to offer more personalised and engaging experiences, while providing customers with benefits and special attention that reinforce their loyalty and satisfaction.
If you're using a CRM such as Klavyo or Brevo, data such as "birthdays" is automatically sent back to the customer's profile sheet.
What are the benefits?
Personalised offers: you can send special offers and personalised promotions on a customer's birthday, creating an emotional bond and increasing loyalty.
Increased sales: Birthday promotions encourage customers to make additional purchases to take advantage of discounts or special offers.
Customer engagement: By celebrating a customer's birthday, you show that you care about your customers, increasing customer engagement and satisfaction.
Accurate data collection: The birthday is a reliable piece of data that helps to enrich the customer database and refine your marketing strategies.
Create a mission
Go to the Missions area, where you can create and modify your missions. By clicking on "Create a mission", you will have access to the library of assignments and to the one dedicated to the birthday "Enter your birthdate".
Setting up the mission
Once you've clicked Create, you can set up the mission.
Name the mission
Tell your customer to enter their birthdate, as in the example above.
The points
We've established a default standard based on the level of commitment the assignment requires from your customers. The aim here is to make the assignment attractive to your customers. The appeal lies in the right adjustment of the points you decide to award.
Description
Add a detailed description so your users can complete your mission effectively.
Automate the mission with a custom field
With this feature, you can set up your mission to automatically collect the required information from an external field. This allows you to gather accurate data without manual input.
Icon
We suggest you import an image, a logo representative of your brand.
Apply to a list of users
You can link your mission to lists or VIP levels.

You can then Save and Exit to leave your mission in draft form or Activate to publish your mission, which will then be available in your programme.
Verification of the mission
Once the mission has been completed, it is automatically checked by our algorithms.
Frequently asked question
Can I add the same job several times?
No, the "birthday" mission cannot be added more than once.
Why hasn't the birthday gift code been received?
The birthday gift code is generated and sent only on the exact day of the member's birthday around 6pm. If the "enter your birthday" mission is completed after the birthday for the current year has already passed, the code will not be sent retroactively — the member will need to wait until the next birthday.
💡 How to diagnose a customer's case:
Open the member profile in Loyoly.
Check the declared date of birth and the date on which the mission was validated.
If the mission was validated on or before Day D of the current birthday → the code should have been sent. Check the delivery logs in Settings > Logs.
If the mission was validated after Day D → explain to the customer that the birthday code will be sent the following year, on the next birthday date.
