You can set a new password for your VPS from its page in the client area, for example if you forgot it. The new password is for root on a Linux VPS and for Administrator on a Windows VPS.

This changes the server's password, not the one you use to log in to the client area. For that, see How to reset your LumaDock account password.

How to change the password

Step 1: Open your server's page.
Go to My servers and click Manage next to the server.

My Products and Services list with an arrow to the Manage button.

Step 2: Click Change Password.
It's under Service Actions, next to the power buttons.

Service Actions with the Change Password button.

Step 3: Set the new password.
Type a new password in New Password, or click Generate to create one. Then click Confirm.

Change Password dialog with the New Password field, a Generate button, Confirm and Cancel.

The new password then shows as Server Password in the Information block.

Programs, scripts and saved connections that use the old password stop working until you give them the new one.

If you still can't log in

Use root as the user name on Linux and Administrator on Windows, and copy the password with the copy icon instead of typing it. The other checks are in Connect to your LumaDock VPS using SSH and Connect to your Windows VPS using RDP.
