Maildoso manages your DNS
To get the best deliverability with our sending infrastructure, Maildoso fully manages DNS for the domains you use with us. You connect a domain by pointing it to our two nameservers at your registrar, and we handle the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records automatically. Because of this, a few things work differently than on a domain you manage yourself:
Custom nameservers and manual DNS records
At your registrar you must set only our two nameservers — nothing else. Extra or leftover nameservers, or expired ones, will stop DNS from resolving and mailboxes will fail.
You can't add or edit DNS records (MX, CNAME, TXT, etc.) by hand — they're managed for you. If you need a specific record, contact support and we'll review it.
You can verify the records we publish with an external tool such as easydmarc.com/tools/dmarc-lookup or MXToolbox.
Custom open/click tracking domains aren't supported
Sequencers like Lemlist and Smartlead use a custom tracking domain (a CNAME record) for open and click tracking. Since we don't allow third-party CNAME/TXT records on managed domains, that tracking domain can't be verified, so the sequencer's open/click tracking won't validate on a Maildoso-managed domain. Sending itself is unaffected.
DMARC reporting
DMARC is configured and managed by Maildoso for best deliverability. Custom DMARC policies or custom reporting addresses (rua) aren't something you set yourself on managed domains.
Cloudflare-registrar domains
Domains registered through Cloudflare Registrar are locked to Cloudflare's own nameservers and can't be repointed to ours. These domains can't be used with Maildoso unless you transfer them to a registrar that allows nameserver changes. (This is different from a domain that merely uses Cloudflare for DNS.)
