Transferring your domains out of Maildoso (push to Dynadot)

How to move domains registered through Maildoso to your own Dynadot account: eligibility (60-day lock, active subscription), the push username, keeping vs. dropping the plan slot ($15), timing, and what happens to mailboxes.

Domains registered through Maildoso can be moved to your own account. Transfers out are done as an account-to-account push to Dynadot and are usually completed within the same working day, or about 24 hours after we've verified your details. For the broader decision of moving DNS or a domain away from Maildoso — including the different path for bring-your-own domains — see Can I stop using Maildoso's DNS or move my domain to another DNS provider?

How the transfer works

We unlock the domains and push them directly into your Dynadot account. No EPP/auth code is needed for this step — once a domain is in your Dynadot account, you can get its auth code there and transfer it on to any other registrar. After the transfer, renewals, DNS and expiry are your responsibility at the new registrar, and the status shown in your Maildoso dashboard is no longer meaningful for that domain.

Mailboxes are not transferred. Nameservers stay unchanged during the push itself, but once a domain has left Maildoso its mailboxes stop sending, so only transfer domains you no longer want us to host. If you later want to use the domain with Maildoso again, connect it as an external domain (our two nameservers) and create new mailboxes — the old mailboxes and their warmup aren't restored.

Eligibility

  1. ICANN 60-day lock: a domain must be past the 60-day lock from its registration (or last transfer) date before it can be pushed.

  2. Active subscription: you can request a transfer at any time while your subscription is active. If you don't plan to renew, request it before the subscription ends.

Steps

  1. Create a Dynadot account (free at dynadot.com) if you don't have one, and complete all required contact details — missing information blocks the push.

  2. Find your Dynadot push username in your Dynadot account settings — it can differ from your login username. Copy it exactly as it appears; an incorrect push username is the most common cause of failed transfers.

  3. Send us the list of domains to transfer and that push username.

  4. Tell us what to do with the plan slots — see the next section.

  5. We push the domains. Log in to Dynadot and accept the incoming push to finish the transfer.

Keep the slot or downgrade?

  • Keep the domain slot on your plan: a $15 per domain fee applies (we'll send a payment link). You keep that capacity and can register a new domain in its place later.

  • Don't need the slot: we reduce your plan's domain allowance by that amount (a downgrade), and no transfer fee applies.

The push doesn't remove the domain or its mailboxes from your Maildoso account or subscription by itself — tell us which option you want so your plan reflects only the domains you keep with us; otherwise they keep counting towards your plan.

Transferring a domain out is different from replacing one — see Domain replacement if you want to swap a domain for a new one instead. Questions before you start? Send us your domain list and Dynadot details and we'll walk you through it.
