How to Use Meadow Point of Sale

A step-by-step walkthrough of the Meadow POS app on iPad -- from setup and finding products to building a cart, applying discounts, and completing a sale.

1. Download and sign in Go to the App Store, search "Meadow Point of Sale," and download. Sign in with your email and password. The first time you sign in, create a four-digit PIN -- you'll use it throughout your shift.

2. Navigate the Tool Select screen After signing in you land on Tool Select. Tap Point of Sale to get started.

3. Choose your mode Normal mode has a cash drawer attached -- use this to fulfill orders and take payment. Drawerless mode is for creating orders without a drawer, used when a separate fulfillment room handles inventory. Quick tell: a grey bar at the top showing the order type means you're in Drawerless mode. Wrong mode? Tap back to Tool Select and pick Normal. When launching Normal mode, enter your starting drawer balance (or zero per store policy).

4. Find products Your main view is a product tile grid. Use the left category list to filter. Open the side panel to filter further -- tap Edibles then Indica to see only indica edibles. Sort by name, brand, price, THC, or CBD. Use the camera button (bottom-left) or a Bluetooth scanner to scan products or customers into the cart. If your store uses Customer Intake, checked-in customers appear in the queue and can be attached to the cart.

5. Build a cart Tap or scan products to add them.

6. Apply discounts Line item discounts apply to a single product. Order discounts apply to the whole cart (two separate lists). BOGOs and product discounts apply automatically. Promo codes are entered at checkout. Custom discounts require manager approval.

7. Complete the sale Choose a payment type. Split payments across methods -- cash plus debit, for example. After the sale, reprint a receipt or look up a past transaction from the same screen.

8. Clear the cart and manage orders Clear Cart (top-right) gives you the option to save the cart before clearing. Once cleared, that button becomes Orders -- tap it to see pending orders by type and status. Open an order to fulfill it, or scan a packing slip barcode to pull a pickup order into your cart. If a customer walks in with an existing pickup order, always fulfill the existing one -- creating a new order will double-charge them.

Tips

  • If something looks off with your mode or drawer, go back to Tool Select and start fresh. It fixes most setup issues in under 30 seconds.

  • Use category filters when a customer is browsing -- faster than scrolling the full grid.

  • The camera scanner works best in good lighting. Struggling? Switch to Bluetooth or type the product name.

  • Always fulfill an existing pickup order rather than creating a new one. Double-charging is one of the most common and most avoidable front-desk mistakes.
