Automations and Tags are part of the Settings options and involve automation rules and tags management.
Automation Rules
You can use automation rules to trigger specific actions on mentions from selected Mention Trackers or keywords. When a mention matches the filter you set, the chosen actions will run automatically.
To do that:
Go to “Settings” → “Automations & Tags” and choose the “Add New Rule” option.
Give a name to the new Rule.
Choose for which tracker(s) or categories you want the Rule to apply.
Create a Boolean filter to indicate when the Rule will be applied. You can also use any existing Preset from your account.
🚨Important Note: If you update or delete a preset, it will change everywhere in Mentionlytics.
Then, create the actions you want to be performed to the mentions from the selected Mention Trackers/Keywords when the filter is a match. You will need at least one Action to create a Rule. The actions can be relevant to:
Tags
Sentiment
Assign To
Notes
Good to Know: The action can also be relevant to the Relevance of a mention. Please contact our Support team or your account manager if you are interested in this option.
Μake sure to hit “Save” after creating an action.
When you save the new Rule, it will start applying to future mentions.
If you want, there is also the option to choose a date and click “Apply to existing mentions”, so that you can apply the new rule to existing mentions as well.
Also, keep in mind that you can edit or delete Rules as needed.
Tags
You can create and add different tags to your mentions to keep them organized based on your needs.
Tagging your mentions is useful to track the performance of specific topics over time. Tags are usually connected to a topic, person, or theme (e.g., Customer Satisfaction, CEO, Emergency).

Also, AI Tags is an automation feature that allows you to apply tags to your mentions automatically based on the context of the mention. This means you no longer have to go through your mentions to assign different tags manually or use automation rules.
AI Tags is available in Pro and higher-tier plans.

How to Organize Your Tags
You can change the color of each existing tag (or when creating new ones) by clicking on the small circle next to the tag name and choosing your desired color from the color picker.
You can also create new tags and add a description if needed, as well as clear all tags in bulk.
💡Tip: New Tags can also be created while you are tagging a mention!
