Keeping your Google Business Profile and social media content fresh can be hard—especially when you're juggling a million other tasks. That’s exactly why we built the What's New feature!

This tool allows Paige to automatically ask you or your clients for business updates. From there, Paige will generate custom content based on those updates in about a minute—and even handle the publishing once it’s approved. It’s a powerful way to:

  • Make your content more specific, timely, and authoritative (Google loves this!)

  • Help marketing agencies stay in closer contact with their clients

  • Keep your online presence active without needing to think about it all the time

Let’s walk through how to set it up and get the most out of it.

🛠️ How to Set Up the What's New Feature

Setting this up takes just a few minutes. Here's how to do it:

1. Go to the Automations Tab

  • From your main dashboard, click on the "Automations" tab in the left-hand menu.

2. Select the “Account Management” Section

  • Inside Automations, find and click on "Account Management."

  • This is where you can configure all the details related to "What's New."

3. Set Up the What's New Workflow

Here’s what you’ll configure:

Setting

Description

Who gets emailed

Choose the person (or people) who will be asked for business updates. This is usually the business owner or someone close to operations.

Approval process

Choose who, if anyone, needs to review and approve the content before it goes live. This could be you, your client, or another team member. Note, all posts need to be approved by someone, even if your general posting rules are set to auto publish.

Frequency

Decide how often this email should go out. We recommend every 5–12 days, and no less than every 20 days to keep content fresh.

Email Customization

If you're a Merchynt Agency Partner you can fully customize the two email templates sent to your clients.

That’s it! Once someone responds to the email with a quick update, Paige takes it from there and publishes the content outside of the normal publishing schedule.

⚡ What Happens After Someone Sends an Update?

Once Paige receives a business update, here’s what happens next:

  1. Content is created automatically – Within about 1 minute, Paige will draft a post based on the update.

  2. Approval request is sent – The person you selected for approvals will get an email notification as soon as the draft is ready.

  3. Post appears in the Dashboard – It will also show up in the Dashboard tab, marked as a “Special Post”, alongside other content needing approval.

  4. You can edit the post – Just like any other content in Paige, you can tweak the text or swap out images before publishing.

  5. Once approved, it’s published – After final approval, the content will be uploaded to Google and any connected social media platforms within 10 minutes.

💡 Best Practices & Tips

Here’s how to get the most out of the What's New feature:

Tip

Why It Matters

Submit updates frequently

Fresh updates lead to more timely, relevant content. Aim for at least 1 update every 10 days.

Be specific

The more detail in the update (like dates, products, events), the better the content Paige can create.

Make sure the alerts are going to the right people

Your main point of contact at the business may not be the best person to provide granular updates about the business.

Use it to engage clients

If you’re an agency, this is a great reason to reach out regularly and show your clients how active their marketing is. We force all updates to be viewed by an admin to avoid the awkward situation where a client thinks they told you something but you didn't see their submission.

✅ You're All Set!

The "What's New" feature is designed to make your life easier while helping your business (or your clients’) stand out with specific, fresh content. Google loves seeing active, updated business content—and your audience does too.
