What Can a Team Manager Do in MindForge?

Team Managers can message their teams, manage member profiles, and add certifications. Here is what the role includes and where to find the steps for each.

The Team Manager role is for the people who run a specific crew or team, whether that team sits under a jobsite or under the broader organization. It gives you what you need to keep your own team informed and their records current, without jobsite-wide or org-wide control.

Here is what the role includes:

Send messages to your team

You can create and send all three message types to any team you manage: Announcements, Bulletin Board messages, and Urgent Announcements. Urgent Announcements trigger a yellow banner and a unique chime on the worker's phone, so save them for stand-downs, evacuations, and anything that needs an immediate response.

View and manage member profiles

You can open and update the MindForge profile of anyone on a team you manage. This matters most for phone numbers and email addresses, since MindForge uses those as the worker's username. An out-of-date number can lock a worker out of the app.

Add certifications to a member's profile

You can add certifications to the profiles of members on your team so anyone with access can confirm a worker is qualified without chasing down paper copies.

What a Team Manager cannot do

  • Create jobsites or teams

  • Create or assign courses

  • Send messages to an entire jobsite or the whole organization

  • View or manage profiles for workers outside their teams

  • Change roles and permissions for other users

Those actions belong to Jobsite Admins and Org Admins. For the full comparison, see Overview of roles and permissions in MindForge.

Note: If you do not see one of the options above in the app, you may not be marked as a Team Manager on that team. Contact your Org Admin or Jobsite Admin to update your access.
