Why is the basic set up important?

Many of the basic set up will have been covered within your onboarding process, but you may also need to use these functionalities in the future as you expand. You may have additional users & warehouses along your journey with the software and these guides will take you set by set through the process.
You will need to understand the order statuses that are a key part of the order fulfilment workflow, these will change dependant on where you are in the picking process and whether stock is available.

What steps you can follow to ensure your set up for success

  • First thing to do is create your warehouse location, this is essential for inbound goods storage.

  • Then set your default warehouse location, if you're running a multi warehouse business, this is particularly useful as it makes the goods inbound process more efficient.

  • Once the basics are done you want to start adding new client & warehouse users and managing their permission settings. Its key that these are always kept up to date, and any leavers are removed from the system as soon as possible.

  • For 3PL Businesses you can then start setting up new clients, this will give your clients visibility from the start.

  • You can now complete your basic picking and packing, this will provide your warehouse users with clear instructions on how to pick accurately and efficiently, it is key to ensuring you're running the business as efficiently as possible. Another useful tool is picking via the mobile app, this is the most efficient way to manage this process however, manual picking can still be used.

  • Manage inventory (no locations)- for smaller businesses, locations may not be required in the warehouse, all stock will remain unassigned until order picking stage
