The Product Carousel element allows you to showcase multiple products in a single scene. For each carousel, you can make the carousel dynamic to automatically pull product information or custom so that you can manually enter the product info. You also have the option to make the carousel 2D or 3D, which is simply a difference in style.
In this article, we'll cover the following:
Product Carousel Styles
There are two product carousel styles: 2D and 3D. The difference between the two is how the products are represented visually and how the products transition.
With 2D carousels, you can adjust the transition type and make pagination visible.
3D carousels automate the transition type, and you can adjust how 3-dimensional your product carousel looks.
Product Carousel Types
You can choose between two carousel types: Dynamic or Custom Carousels.
Dynamic Carousels
Dynamic Carousels automatically pull the product image, name, brand, and price. You can exclude these options by unchecking them in the Product Info section. The product details are pulled dynamically from the tracking pixel installed on your site, so any product information changes will be automatically updated on your product carousel.
π‘ Note: If someone has visited your site before, the dynamic product carousel will display products the user has in their cart, recently viewed products/categories, followed by your top-viewed products.
If a user has yet to visit your site, the product carousel will display the top-viewed products. For the "top-viewed products," dynamic product carousels pull in the products with the most page views from the last 24 hours on your site, which are refreshed every 24 hours.
You can edit the appearance of these attributes by clicking on the pencil icon next to the attribute in the Product Info section.
Custom Carousels
Custom carousels allow you to manually customize the carousel's product names, brand, price, URL, and photos. All of this is done by clicking on the Pencil icon under the Product section of Product Info.
Editing Product Info
In the menu to edit Product image attributes, you can adjust the size and position of the image itself.
Adjust the width of the image inside the bounding box. | Adjust the height of the image inside the bounding box. |
Adjust the vertical position of the image inside the bounding box. | Adjust the horizontal position of the image inside the bounding box. |
You can edit the appearance of the product name, brand, price, and image by clicking on the pencil icon next to each. The controls are the same for Name, Brand, and Price, but you must customize each individually. Changes made to one of these components will not affect the others. You can check out the Text Element for full details on each attribute.
Styling Product Carousels
Dynamic carousels only. This determines how many products the carousel features. Custom carousels don't have this attribute because you manually input all the necessary images.
This determines which product kicks off the carousel. The number correlates with the product number.
Autoplay is precisely as it sounds β enable the carousel to begin to play automatically. Disable autoplay; the user must use the display arrows to browse the carousel.
2D only. Set the transition from product to product to Fade or Slide.
This controls the direction in which the products transition from one to another.
Display arrows allow the user to scroll through products manually. Templates with display arrows turned on have predesigned arrows already populated into the carousel -- in all likelihood, you will want to keep them the same. If a template does not have the display arrows turned on, turning them on requires you to upload your arrow images and arrange them appropriately.
This is an effect on the transition from product to product. Please feel free to leave this blank if you're satisfied with the Slide transition. If not, you can use preview mode to select the transition you'd like to use.
This controls the speed of the transition between products. The higher the number, the slower the transition.
Dynamic carousels only. Adjust the Farscale to make the products in the carousel look farther away or nearer. It gives the products depth and makes them appear more or less 3-dimensional.
You can add pagination controls to your carousel to manually allow users to page from product to product.
Align the carousel element to the ad unit's top, center, bottom, left, right, or middle.
This adjusts the width of the carousel element.
This controls the height of the carousel element.
This controls the vertical position of the carousel element.
This controls the horizontal position of the carousel element.
This adds a shadow effect to the carousel.
