You can ride MOBY bikes anywhere within the operating area shown on the app map, provided the bike has sufficient battery.
A bike is considered low battery when the displayed remaining range falls below
10km. Actual range may vary depending on terrain, rider weight, weather conditions, riding style, and bike usage.
Zone Types Explained
White / Clear Zone — Operating Area
You can ride freely within these areas, but you cannot park or end your journey
Green Zone — Parking Zone
You may:
End your ride here (only at public bike parking stand)
Pause your ride here
Always ensure:
The bike is locked correctly
Your parking photo clearly shows the bike parked properly at a public bike stand
Incorrect parking may result in:
A €6 parking enforcement charge
€30 penalties for repeated violations
Account restrictions or suspension for repeated misuse
Red Zone — No Parking Zone
You may ride through red zones, but:
You cannot end your ride here
You can pause your ride here (if the bike has a high level of battery range >10-15km
If you enter a red zone, you must return to a green parking zone to finish your trip.
Important Battery Warning
If you pause a ride in a red zone and the bike battery becomes low (below 10km displayed range), you may be unable to restart the bike and could require assistance from support.
Always check battery level before entering a red zone
Light Blue Zone — Paid Parking Zone
You may end your ride here, but an additional parking fee applies.
Examples include:
Airports
Premium parking areas
Any applicable fee will be shown in the app before ending your ride.
Dark Blue Zone — Discount Parking Zone
End your ride in these zones to receive discounted parking or promotional incentives where available.
No Go-Zones
Examples may include:
Dollymount Strand
South Wall
Parts of West Dublin
Bikes cannot be taken into these areas.
If a ride is paused inside a No Go-Zone:
The bike may automatically lock
You may be unable to continue your ride
You will need to contact support for assistance
Always avoid entering No Go-Zones.
Battery Awareness
Keep an eye on your battery level throughout your trip.
If a bike runs out of battery outside a valid green parking zone, you may need to return the bike manually to a permitted parking location.
Bikes left outside permitted parking zones may incur:
Parking enforcement charges
Recovery or removal fees
Parking Compliance

Always park at a public bike stand
Ensure the bike is locked correctly

Never block footpaths, entrances, ramps, or public access areas
