Block Vehicle Availability for Maintenance or Downtime

Schedule one-time or recurring vehicle downtime so unavailable vehicles cannot be selected during affected trips.

Written by Nate

Use vehicle unavailability blocks for maintenance, repairs, cleaning, or any other period when a vehicle should not be booked.

Create an unavailability block

  1. Open Vehicles and select the vehicle.

  2. Open the Unavailability tab.

  3. Select Add Block.

  4. Choose a recurrence:

    • One-time — select one date.

    • Daily — repeat every day, with optional start and end dates.

    • Weekly — select one or more days of the week, with optional start and end dates.

  5. Enter the start and end times. Add an optional reason, such as “Weekly maintenance.”

  6. Select Save.

What the block changes

  • In Operator, Moovs shows the scheduled unavailability when you review or assign a vehicle for an affected trip.

  • In the Customer Portal, an affected vehicle is unavailable and cannot be selected. This applies regardless of the vehicle's trip-conflict settings.

  • In the Dispatch Vehicle Availability view, the unavailable period appears as a gray hatched block.

An unavailability block is separate from a trip conflict. If both apply, Moovs shows both conflict indicators.

Edit or remove a block

Return to Vehicles > vehicle > Unavailability. Select the edit or delete action on the block you want to change.
