This is a step by step guide on how to use the Broker Profile inside Mortgage MarketSmart to analyze broker performance, compare them to the market, and export data.

In the Broker Profile Dashboard, you can view origination data for individual or groups of brokers.

Use Cases

There are a lot of ways to use this dashboard, including:

  • Viewing loan data for brokers you work with

  • Viewing loan data for brokers you want to work with

  • Finding brokers working with your target segments

  • Understanding a broker's partners—LOs, lenders, real estate agents, etc.

  • And more

Here's how to use this Broker Profile Dashboard.

1. Open the Broker Profile

  • From the Welcome screen, click the Profiles tile

  • Click the three lines (menu icon) at the top to open the left-side menu

  • Click it again if you want to hide the menu

  • Click Broker Profile

2. Select Your Market and Time Period

  • Select a Market (example: Atlanta)

  • Select a Time Period (example: 2025)

The table will now display broker data for your selected market and year.

3. Review the Broker Comparison Table

  • Under the Broker Selector, you will see the top brokers for your selected market and time period

  • The table includes:

    • Broker names and locations

    • Production in units and dollars

    • Average loan sizes

    • Percent of production in MCTs (Majority Minority Census Tracts) and other categories (BCTs, HCTs)

    • Percent of production in LMI (Low to Moderate Income) Census Tracks

4. Analyze Production Mix

  • Review the breakdown of production mix:

    • Relative to purchase, refinance, and equity units

    • Relative to purchase, refinance, and equity dollars

5. Additional Broker Metrics

  • Check the percent of government and conventional loans (e.g., conforming, jumbo)

  • Review LTV (Loan-to-Value) ratios

  • See the number of loan officers, lenders, and agents worked with

6. Export the Broker Table to Excel

  • Hover your mouse over the table

  • Go to the top right corner of the table

  • Click the Share button

  • Select Excel to download the file

7. Research a Specific Broker

  • Go to the Broker Selector dropdown at the top

  • Select a broker (example: Nexa)

  • Click Apply

The dashboard will now show data specific to that broker.

8. Review the Activity Tab

  • Go to the Activity tab to see production units and dollars for the selected broker

  • Analyze breakdowns by transaction type, loan type, and census track type

9. Review the Relationships Tab

  • Check the Relationships tab for:

    • Loan officers worked with in Atlanta for 2025

    • Lenders and agents involved

10. Use the Loans Export Tab

  • Access the Loans Export to view detailed records (e.g., addresses, mortgage amounts, LTV, interest rates)

  • Additional information includes lender name, seller name, and buyer name

11. Save Loan Records

  • Similar to broker information, save loan records by clicking the share button and selecting Excel

12. Final Check

Before finishing check:

  • Market selected correctly

  • Time period selected

  • Broker selected (if needed)

  • Activity tab reviewed

  • Relationships reviewed

  • Loans Export reviewed

  • Excel file saved (if needed)

  • Broker cleared (if switching to another)

You are now ready to analyze broker performance and compare results within Mortgage MarketSmart.
