How Do I View My Exercise History?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

One of the standout features of the Moves App is the ability to view your exercise history. This trainer-recommended tool helps you track progress over time and supports progressive overload, which is essential for making consistent gains.

Here’s how to access and use this feature, whether before or during a workout.

Before a Workout

Planning in advance can save time and help you pick the right weights or modify exercises for your session.

Exercise Overview Screen:

  1. On the workout overview page, tap the exercise you want to review.

  2. Tap Exercise History under Actions.

  3. Now you can see your past weights and reps and update your plan for the session.

💡Pro Tip: Add personal notes, like “felt easy last time” or “try dumbbells next round,” to guide your workout planning.

During a Workout

Shortcut:

The fastest way to access Exercise History in both views is via the shortcut that appears when you tap into a measurement field.

Guided View:

  • Tap the more information icon () and select Exercise History under Actions.

  • Or, tap the three dots next to the exercise name and select Exercise History.

List View:

  1. Tap the three-dot icon next to the exercise.

  2. Select Exercise History under Actions.

Adding Personal Notes

Once you’ve accessed your exercise history, you can add personal notes for extra context. These details help you fine-tune your workouts and track progress more effectively. Examples include:

  • What color resistance band you used

  • If you used dumbbells instead of a barbell (or vice versa)

  • How you were feeling that day

  • If you used a lighter weight during a warmup versus the heavier weight in the full workout

Adding notes helps you plan smarter sessions, adjust intensity, and see your progression over time—all without needing a separate notebook.

Why Use Exercise History?

  • Helps track weights, reps, and progression over time.

  • Keeps a record of modifications or alternate exercises.

  • Allows smarter planning for increasing intensity or adjusting difficulty.
