When dealing with recurring subscriptions on MyFitCoach, charges may still occur after cancellation due to a variety of reasons. This article outlines common situations and provides guidance on managing your subscription to avoid unexpected charges.


Understanding Subscription Management

MyFitCoach subscriptions can be managed through different platforms depending on how and where the subscription was initiated. It is critical to identify the origin of your subscription to ensure a proper cancellation.

  1. Web Subscriptions: Managed via the Stripe Customer Portal.

  2. In-App Subscriptions (iOS or Android): Managed through the App Store or Google Play.


Common Scenarios for Charges After Cancellation

1. Cancellation Applies Only to Future Renewals

When you cancel a subscription, the cancellation typically takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. This means:

  • You will not be refunded for the current billing period once it has started.

  • The subscription services will remain active until the current cycle ends, after which the cancellation will take full effect.

2. Outstanding Payments on Recurring Subscriptions

Recurring subscriptions require the settlement of any outstanding payments even if a cancellation request has been made. Ensure that your account has no pending payments. You can verify and resolve payments through the Stripe Customer Portal.

3. Dual Subscriptions on Multiple Platforms

If you have multiple active subscriptions on different platforms (e.g., one via Stripe and another via the App Store), canceling one subscription does not automatically terminate the other. Each subscription must be canceled independently.

4. Incomplete or Incorrect Cancellation

For subscriptions managed through iOS or Android, ensure cancellation is completed through their respective app stores. Additionally, cancellations should ideally be performed at least 24 hours before the renewal date to prevent auto-renewal charges.

5. Apple Individual Subscription Management

If your subscription was purchased through Apple, MyFitCoach does not have the ability to cancel or refund it. You must manage all subscription cancellations and refunds through Apple’s systems directly. Visit the Apple Refund Center for further assistance.

  1. Determine Subscription Origin: Check if your subscription was initiated via the website (Stripe) or an app store (iOS or Android).

  2. Log Into the Correct Platform: Visit the Stripe Customer Portal for web subscriptions, or the App Store/Google Play for in-app purchases and verify your cancellation status.

  3. Check for Outstanding Payments: For web subscriptions, ensure that any pending payments are resolved.

  4. Cancel Within 24 Hours of the Renewal Date: Ensure that cancellations are processed at least 24 hours before the renewal to ensure no further charges are incurred.

  5. Contact Support if Necessary: If you encounter difficulties managing your subscription or identifying the source, reach out to the respective platform’s support for assistance.
