If you're wondering how and when volume adjustments take place, you'll find all the answers here. Please note that volume adjustments only work if you have activated deloads in your training profile.

Periodized Training

MyFitCoach periodizes your training into cycles. A cycle consists of four training weeks and one deload week. This ensures you make continuous progress in your training.

Performance Comparison

To determine which muscles have made progress and which have not, we compare your performance in the first two training weeks of a cycle to the performance in the first two training weeks of the previous cycle for each individual exercise.

Volume Adjustment

For all muscles that have made progress, we don't make volume adjustments since the current volume is working for that muscle. For all muscles that are stagnating or even regressing, we adjust the volume for each individual muscle based on your subjective recovery.

We decrease the volume if your muscle is overloaded to prevent injuries and overtraining. On the other hand, we increase the volume if your muscle is underloaded to achieve further progress.

If your volume adjustment requires too many changes to your volume, it can result in adjustments in your training plan in the form of new exercises or replaced exercise variants.
