Auto Remove LP After Replenishment

How to configure locations to automatically remove LP association when replenishment inventory is put away

Overview

When replenishing inventory from an LP-tracked location into a location that does not use LP tracking, Logiwa IO must remove the LP (License Plate) association before the inventory is stored. Since the destination location does not support LP-based operations, retaining the LP association would prevent operators from interacting with the inventory as expected during downstream warehouse processes.

The Auto Remove LP After Replenishment setting eliminates the need for the manual two-step transfer workaround. When enabled for a location, Logiwa IO automatically removes the LP association as soon as the replenishment put step is completed, storing the inventory at the destination location without an LP reference. This automation occurs in the background and does not change the operator's replenishment scanning workflow.

When to Use It

Enable Auto Remove LP After Replenishment on a location when:

  • The location is an Active Pick location where items are stored and picked loose, without physical LP labels

  • Inventory is replenished from LP-tracked Reserve locations into this location

Prerequisites

Before enabling this setting, ensure:

  • The location has been created in Logiwa IO

  • A replenishment Job Type and Wave Rule are in place for the relevant warehouse

  • Your user account has the Warehouse Admin permission to edit location settings

  • For bulk configuration: the Location Excel import template is available

Setup Instructions

Enable Auto Remove LP After Replenishment on a Location

  1. Navigate to Warehouse Setup β†’ Locations.

  2. Find the location you want to configure and click to open it, or click Create Location to set up a new one.

  3. Open the Information tab in the sidebar.

  4. Scroll to the Location Rules section.

  5. Click the Auto Remove LP After Replenishment pill to select it. The pill highlights when active.

  6. Click Save. Repeat for each Active Pick location where LP removal is required.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you have a large number of Active Pick locations to configure, use the Location Excel bulk import. Add an Auto Remove Lp After Replenishment column to your import file with a value of TRUE for each applicable location and import via Warehouse Setup β†’ Locations β†’ Import or Update

How It Works

Once Auto Remove LP After Replenishment is enabled on a location, the following behavior applies during replenishment:

During the put step: The operator scans Source Location β†’ LP β†’ Product β†’ Quantity β†’ Target Location as normal. No change to the scanning sequence.

At put completion: Logiwa IO checks whether the confirmed target location has Auto Remove LP After Replenishment enabled. If yes, inventory is stored at the target location without LP association. The source LP quantity is reduced by the replenished amount and record remains in the system.

Task record: The replenishment task is flagged to indicate LP removal occurred. You can view this in the Replenishment Task Details screen by enabling the LP Auto Removed column.

Mixed jobs: A single replenishment job can contain tasks going to both LP-tracked and non-LP-tracked locations. Each task is handled independently β€” tasks going to locations with the setting enabled remove LP association, while tasks going to standard locations preserve LP association as normal.

Redirected puts: If Allow Scanning Another Put Location or Allow Suggest Another is enabled on your Job Type, and the operator puts to a different location than originally directed, Logiwa IO evaluates the Auto Remove LP After Replenishment setting on the actual location scanned β€” not the original task target.

Common Questions & Edge Cases

Does this affect my operator's scanning steps? No. The operator scans exactly the same fields as today β€” Source Location, LP, Product, Quantity, and Target Location. The only difference is what happens after the final scan is confirmed: the inventory is stored LP-free instead of LP-associated.

What happens if I replenish only part of an LP? Only the replenished quantity is stored LP-free at the target location. The remaining units on the source LP stay fully LP-associated at the source location β€” unchanged.

What happens to the source LP when all units are replenished? The source LP quantity reaches zero. The LP record remains in the system with a quantity of 0 β€” it is not deleted.

Does this setting affect picking, receiving, or transfer operations? No. Auto Remove LP After Replenishment only applies during replenishment put completion. All other workflows β€” picking, receiving, counting, and transfers β€” are unaffected.

Can I verify which tasks had LP removal applied? Yes. In Task Management β†’ Task Details β†’ Replenishment, enable the LP Auto Removed column via the column chooser. Tasks where LP removal fired show Yes. You can also filter and export by this column.

What if the operator scans a different location during the put step? Logiwa IO evaluates the Auto Remove LP After Replenishment setting on whichever location the operator actually confirms β€” not the original task target. If the alternative location has the setting enabled, LP removal fires. If not, LP association is preserved.
