Step-by-Step Guide

First, navigate to the Algorithms screen.

Select Putaway Algorithm from the available options.

You'll need to enter the editing menu to test a rule within an algorithm. To do this, click on the name of the algorithm you wish to edit. You can also select the 3-Dots menu and click the Show Details or Edit.

From the Edit Algorithm screen, click on the Rules tab.

The rules that you've defined for your algorithm will become visible. Choose any existing rule from the Rule List by selecting it.

The specifics of the rule will load on the right side of the screen. Click on the Test Rule button at the bottom, next to Save Rule.

After clicking, the Test Rule pop-up will open. If you want to test the rule by product, fill in the following while on the Product Putaway tab:

Once this information is entered, click the Search button. Any records found under that search will display.

Select the checkbox next to the item's name and click the Test button.

The rule will run and display the suggested location for this product. Once you've made a note of it, you can click OK to exit.

Alternately, if you want to test the rule by LP, choose the LP Putaway option and fill in the LP or the Parent LP in the corresponding search boxes.

Click the Search button to locate the inventory you wish to put away, select the check box next to it, then click the Test button.

The suggested putaway location(s) will display. Click OK to exit.

If the results of your tests are not to your satisfaction, you can edit the rule and continue running tests from the Edit Algorithm screen you are on.
