Have you already created your algorithm along with several rules but don't know how to start applying and prioritizing them? This article will teach you how to organize the rules within an existing putaway algorithm.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • First, navigate to Algorithms screen.

    • If you have trouble finding the screen, please use the Search Option on the menu bar.

  • Select Putaway Algorithm from the available options.

  • Next, you'll need to enter the editing menu to test a rule within an algorithm. To do this, click on the name of the algorithm you wish to edit. You can also select the 3-Dot menu and click the Show Details or Edit.

  • From the Edit Algorithm screen, click on the Rules tab.

  • The rules that you've defined for your algorithm will become visible. You can now drag and drop the rules to change their priority.

  • In this example, the Damaged Item Rule is moved from priority 1 to 2:

  • After dragging and dropping, the Priority column will update with the new priority assignment for each rule. Rules are checked in descending order.

    • These priorities work like an IF ELSE statement. If there is no location found from the first rule, 2nd rule will be checked.

  • If you are simply editing an algorithm, you do not need to complete any additional steps to save your changes.

  • If you're changing priorities while creating an algorithm for the first time, make sure to click on Save to record your changes.
