After creating a putaway algorithm, it's best to test it and see if it's working as expected. You can test the entire algorithm with one simple method that this article will dive into.
Step-by-Step Guide
Navigate to Algorithms screen as an initial step.
If you cannot locate the screen, please use the Search Option on the menu bar.
Select Putaway Algorithm from the available options.
Find the algorithm you wish to test and select the checkbox next to it. Once this is selected, you can click the Test Algorithm button on the right-hand side of the screen.
After clicking, the Test Algorithm pop-up will open.
If you want to test the selected algorithm by product, fill in the following while on the Product Putaway tab:
Client: Select via dropdown.
Location: Begin typing the location name to search for it, then select it from the available options.
Product: Begin typing the product name or SKU to search for it, then select it from the available options
Once this information is entered, click the Search button. Any records found under that search will display. Click the checkbox next to the item's name and click the Test button.
The putaway algorithm will run and display the suggested location for this product. Once you've made a note of it, you can click OK to exit.
You can also enter the editing menu to test your algorithm. To do this, click on the name of the algorithm you wish to edit.
You can also select the 3 Dots" menu and click the Show Details or Edit buttons from the available options.
From the Edit Algorithm screen, click on Test Algorithm button at the bottom left-hand side. The Test Algorithm pop-up will open.
If you want to test the selected algorithm by LP, choose the LP Putaway option and fill in the License Plate number.
Click the Search button to locate the inventory you wish to put away, select the check box next to it, then click the Test button.
The putaway algorithm will run and display the suggested location for this product. Once you've made a note of it, you can click OK to exit.
